White House Down: Was It Really A Bad Movie?
When White House Down came out in theaters at first I could help but think oh great another movie about an attack on the white house. I hesitated to go see it at first. I thought to myself was it's Olympus Has Fallen part 2. Then I decided to go see it after all. Honestly that was a very smart decision on my part. I loved the movie. The action, the way the characters interacted with each other and everything else was good. I think the only reason it didn't do well at the box office was simply that it was released too close to Olympus Has Fallen. In my opinion if they waited to release it to theater a while longer it would have done way better. The movie is currently out on DVD and Blu-ray.
So what is the plot?
Officer Cale (Channing Tatum) is a capital police officer on a tour of the white house with his daughter. His life dream is to be a secret service officer. The capital is bombed and the white house is attacked. Cale escapes but his daughter is taken hostage. Cale manages to rescue the president (Jaime Foxx) and together they try to regain control of the white house and rescue Cale's daughter. Of course there's tons of explosions, gunfights, cars crashing and of course fights. However, that's normal for an action film. The white house is relieved of the terrorist threat and officer is given his dream job of being a secret service agent by the president.
