Xam'd Lost Memories Vs Eureka Seven

Updated on October 7, 2011

Xam'd: Lost Memories Vs. Eureka seven - Both From Studio Bones

I want to tell you about the Similarities and Differences between Eureka Seven & Xam`d: Lost Memories. Most people realize this right when they start to watch one of the anime`s because the entire feel of it is so close to each other. Which one would you rather Watch?

I also think that the two main character`s were extremely similar such as the way they look and the way they act. Takehara Akiyuki was a typical student who had two best friends Haru and Furuichi.

Then with Renton Thurston is a fourteen year old that "Wants to get big". He has high hopes at a young age and looks up to "holland" which is another character in the series.

Both Anime`s are similar and different in many ways, an example of that is how both crew`s,were always on a ship of some kind. The crew of Xam`d is a ship that travels all around Japan and the world sending mail, whereas the Crew of Renton they are a ship that travel`s all around Japan and the world doing illegal trading and more.

I personally love both Xam'd: Lost Memories and Eureka seven so much. Also I believe that Studio Bones produce many great anime`s such as Darker Than Black, Eureka Seven, RahXephon, and Wolf's Rain.

I wouldn`t change anything in these anime`s and I love to support them in any way possible. I also recommend both of these Anime`s to Anime fans because I can honestly say that Stuido BONES has really high standards for Anime. This is part of the reason why It is in HD quality and more.

Akiyuki Takehara Was a young student in his class. He focused his time on everyday average thing`s, such as doing chores, helping his farther and more. His mother was no longer with his farther so he had to keep things balanced on both sides. The first episode starts off with an explosion, that quickly brings Akiyuki into this mess of a political and national war. I'm sure this Anime sounds a lot like Code Geass as well.

After the smoke cleared away, The problem didn`t for Akiyuki. It seemed like everything was happening so fast that he couldn`t tell what was going on. The Anime did a great job at keeping selective question`s hidden into the text/content of the series. Then it would release it all slowly one by one. This personally reminded me of a popular and new Anime series that just came to America for sometime, Called Deadman Wonderland.

Xam`d starts off the season with an explosion. It get`s everyone wanting more (well, at least it did to me). I loved the way the season started the first episode was full with action and entertainment. I do admit that the first ten minutes of the episode was boring but it needed to show everyone Akiyuki`s Lifestyle.

Through out the season, there was a set atmosphere, and a perfect blend of nature and science. Even if this Anime looked like Eureka Seven , the way Stuido bone`s puts it together makes a huge difference within the series it self. I found it more grabbing toward the audience. The same thing goes for the plot, Even though the plot is similar to Eureka Seven in numerous ways the series takes it that extra mile.

Right, When Akiyuki is given Xam`d he is confused. I Think if I was in a situation like that I would be as well. I believe the worse part about him having Xam`d inside his body is the fact that his life span is limited. What do I mean about that? Well, He has all this power and this authority but if he over does it just by a little bit he can die right on the spot. It`s a little sad because if for some reason he can`t control it the main character could die.. which could kill the anime..

Other then the fact that, Xam`d can turn to stone at any given time, this is something that is similar to Eureka Seven. Renton is always being put into life or death situations. I`m sure that Xam`d has it worse but both of them are full of power that they can`t fully use (At least at the moment). Meaning that they both have mentors as well that watch over them, That reminds me of the anime called "Naruto" because when The main character (Naruto) is training he has "Jiraiya" over see him.

Just like Eureka Seven there was a lot of travelling in this Anime. In the very first five minutes of the series Akiyuki was "travelling" to another place using his bike. Then about ten minutes into the show, they were on a school bus travelling down to the city. I started to see the trend when I realized that in the next few episodes or so they were still travelling because they were on some-type of Ship flying all around Japan.

The Dialogue of this story is similar to Eureka`s Sevens, Renton for an example has to balance out his dream and his life, where as Akiyuki from Xam`ds: Lost Memoires has to balance out Xam`d and his life. Overall, they both need to work hard at achieving their goals in order to understand everything.

The finished Product, is what I would call it! Well, this is Xam`d the full version of it and it1s living inside of Akiyuki. At time`s it can take over his body and destroy another in it`s way. On the Another hand, If Akiyuki can learn to control it he will be a powerful weapon used for good or bad. The miltary doesn`t want these "Human Forms" around even though they are real people living and being in trapped inside.

Holland was a Famous Rider that at the age of fourteen landed a complex trick, making him the leader of that generation. Renton looked up to him as a fan, and role modal. Renton was also the son of Adroc Thurston, who was announced dead for saving the world as a military assistant. Holland was once in the military and is known for doing some unforgiving things. Through out the storyline, Renton and the view get`s to know these event`s that Holland took place in.

Also, through out this series there was some romance between Renton and Eureka. Along with all that some comedy was through into it. Believe it or not but the filler`s (There are hardly any fillers in this Anime) Were really entertaining and funny at times. Through out the series there was a lot of conflict`s and themes. An example, is when Japan was in war and this affected the Ship and Characters. When event`s happen like this with the plot it add`s to the "Real World" aspect.

Transparence Light Particles were so important in this series, if their was none of these particles around they wouldn`t be able to fly around. I found this entertaining because of the fact that they relayed on something s simple but so important. Trapar waves, Was another term they used from time to time because the series was based off of "Surfing the air"

Xam`d: Lost Memories HD - Opening - Boom Boom Satellites - "Shut up and Explode"

Here`s the Opening theme of Xam`d: Lost Memories . It is extremely similar to Eureka Seven. The thing`s I enjoyed most about this Opening was all the action and editing that was put into it. The art that is drawn in this Anime series was almost to the exact , in Eureka Seven. They used the same artist for both these series and they used studio bone`s as well.

Eureka Seven HD - Opening - Flow - "Days"

Here`s the Opening theme of Eureka Seven . It is extremely similar to Xam`d: Lost Memories. As I mentioned up there earlier the art work and character`s all are drawn the same exact way. I found this very entertaining when I wanted the Xam`d the for the first time and realized it was from the same studio as Eureka Seven. Most people are able to pick up on this right away.

Gotta say that I liked Eureka 7 better because of the uncomplicated sense of freedom lifting actually gave them plus its not too surprising that these two are alike these are both animes created by bones studio themselves with no prior manga to give them a story though I gotta say the did a great job in developing characters in only 26 episodes fro xam'd but i love having 50 episodes of Eureka Seven to watch because if you have to waste time rewatching an anime it should long and beautiful

I enjoyed Eureka 7 a lot more. The characters seemed more likeable to me, while all those transformations in Xam'd seemed rather creepy. Although I suppose E7 had plenty of disgusting stuff as well, especially towards the end.

I'm completely out of the Anime loop but you sure put some work into this lens. I think anime is a beautiful art form and your screenshots are great.
