How to relieve teething pain of infants

To be a parent of very young child is exciting as well as very challengin.It is exciting because one smile of your kid make you feel that you are the happiest person on the earth but it become challenging when you have to go through sleepless and broken nights. Even it does not sound much difficult but it is difficult if your baby has some problem and you find it hard to relieve it. One of the basic problem is teething pain in infants. Normally babies start teething around the age of 5 or 6 months.

some babies do have problem of diarrehea.Although doctors say that its not related to teething but many babies have it during teething time. My baby too have).

There is no hard and fast rule or a single medicine to relieve the teething pain but you can try the following and definitely one or more of them will help you and your baby.

1.Rubbing the gums: Try to rub the gums of your baby. It will ease the pain but make sure that your hands are properly clean otherwise it may result into infection.

2. Cold food: if you have started weaning to your baby then you can give some cold food like yoghurt,purees of fruit etc.But remember that in cold whether too much cold food can cause flu or running nose of babies.

3.Wet Cloth: Take a clean cloth, dip it in water and squeeze it properly. Keep it in fridge for sometime and then give it to your baby. He will feel better.

4.Cuddling:You may have to cuddle your baby more than before as it will soothe him. Don't think that you are spoiling your child. Its not like that. You are just helping your child.

5.Teething Rings: Teething rings also help a lot in teething pain. but be sure that you buy teething rings of good quality as your baby will chew them all the time.If these are of poor quality, he can become sick.

6.Teething Gel:Rub teehing gel on the baby's gums. It will relieve the pain. Don't forget to read the instruction on it.(Some teething gels are only for babies who are above one year old).

7.Medicines( Calpol or Nurofen): Medicine which contain paracetamole(Made especially for babies) can also help the baby and can be useful to put him to sleep.

8.Other Over the counter medicine:There are many over the counter medicines that you can buy like, Boots 24 sachets to relieve teething pain, baby orajel gel,bonjela teething gel etc.

9. Clove Oil: Rub clove oil on baby's gum and it will help to soothe the sore gums.(Clove oil can also be used by adults in case they have sore gums or teething pain.It is one of the most used home remedy).

10. Olive Oil: if you don't have clove oil at home, you can use olive oil to rub on the gums.

Above all, your baby need more love,affection and care at this time. So love him andcuddle him more than before.

      just don't put straight clove oil on babys gums make sure it is diluted with oil otherwise will burn the gums

      I've used an amber teething necklace with my youngest daughter and I think they do wonders! they have saved me lots of money as Camilia is not cheap. When looking at the different options it was important to me that I choose the safest, most natural products.
