Healthy kids are a boon to the parents and to the society. For raising them healthy, parents have to check in lots of factors. The impact of globalization has let us live in a world of diverse cultures. Kids may interact with those of different cultures, so resilience and broad-mindedness have to be cultivated in their minds first. But don’t raise your eyebrows on why healthy eating is not being put in first place in this topic of health. I believe that mental happiness is the most important factor that governs healthy growing of a kid. Let’s discuss 10 tips that influence the raising of kids in healthy condition.

1. Avoid fighting in the presence of your kids

Parents may encounter fights or arguments while dealing with many issues. Raising voice in front of kids can disturb their mental balance that in turn distorts their behavior. Such kids often have the chances of catching headache that persists forever. Any family affair or financial problem need to be discussed in their absence so as not to put any tension in their little heads.

Positive side always brings hope and happiness whereas negative side negates them.

2. Make your kids aware of the importance of eating healthy foods

Fast foods and junk foods reign today’s world. Kids normally get attracted towards their appearance and taste. They can be given once in a while, but feeding them regular can hook chronic diseases to your kid. Take kids along-with you to grocery shops and vegetable markets and teach them showing the health information provided in those food cans and bottles. Teach kids what each body part does and also the importance of eating healthy foods to nourish their functioning.

Awareness can help bring a positive attitude towards action.

3. Make balanced and relishing foods

A balanced diet comprises of vitamins, minerals, proteins and carbohydrates in right amounts. Milk, vegetables, fruits, whole grains and pulses together make up this. Kids would touch only those that they like and brings taste. Don’t force them to eat in full as it induces persistent dislike. Try to prepare foods delicious putting the flavors they like and add the necessary ingredients to make it balanced.

4. Make foods rich in fibers

Fibrous foods improve intestine functions and strengthen its muscles. They support bowel movements very well and prevent constipation and hemorrhoids. Vegetables and fruits are rich in fibers and should be included in foods invariably with adequate amounts. Leafy vegetables such as spinach and lettuce are often considered for making fibrous foods.

5. Choose the perfect health drink

Health drinks for kids are enriched with calcium and proteins that aim for overall development during growing period. Proteins and calcium boost height growth and you’ve to choose those health drinks that contain these in adequate amounts. Drinks that promote rapid growth in a short period are not good at all. Also some health drinks make the stomach too full to eat something else. Choosing the perfect health drink also plays an important role in raising kids healthy.

6. Don’t let your kids go obese

Kids get tempted to eat fatty foods once they eat them. Unless you put control, children may become obese and would stop eating other nourishing foods. Occasional intake of fatty foods won’t cause much harm. For example, ice-cream and yogurt are often fed during summer season. In this season body sweats more and excess fat gets released. Lavish intake of fat results in chronic diseases, with decreased chances of recovery. Checking or controlling in the beginning is the only way to escape this.

7. Make natural remedies to prevent illness

Natural remedies are very helpful in raising a kid in today’s world. Kids often catch common cold. Do you know a mix of honey, lemon juice and ginger juice can help prevent the occurrence of cold? A pinch of turmeric powder put in the recipes would remove the toxins from the body. A cup of peppermint tea can relieve stomach pain. Some of these remedies are helpful to stop developing illness often. As prolonged use of pain-killers and antibiotics cause side-effects, these home remedies can save your kid and can give a happy and healthy life.

8. Let your kids do exercise

Doing exercise daily has also got a major role in growing kids healthy. A swing or a slide in the park nearby can make them cheerful. Playing daily can motivate kids to be active that in turn would tone muscles, control weight and provide sound sleep. Appetite also increases that result in higher intake of foods.

Other than these, there are fitness programs being organized by various entrepreneurs that also can make kids more active and interactive. They may come to know about team spirit and group performance. Kids Yoga is also popular as doing Yoga in early childhood contours the body and makes it flexible.

9. Engage your kids in extra-curricular activities

Singing, dancing, playing instruments, drawing all impart pleasure and kids enjoy them. Don't force them to involve in what they dislike. Let them choose which one they like and encourage them doing it. These activities relax kids from their studies and learning arts is a matter of prestige. Kids that show interest in sports should be put in special sports activities.

10. Be patient

All kids may not be alike. Some may grasp fast and perform high, whereas some may lag behind. Don’t blame them or don’t scold them comparing others. This can disturb the mental balance of kids and they may feel that they are lone with no one to love them. This attitude would aggravate the situation and they get distracted from the normal ways of life.

Have you ever thought of those couples that yearn to see a little leg in their house? When compared to them, how fast you got a kid to pamper and bring up? Why should you blame that kid for a silly thing? All these deserve thought and try to believe that patience is the key to bring up kids healthy and smart in today’s world.

Great advice and I think we did pretty much all of them. We never ate at fast food they always had good home cooked meals.

Sometimes we run into problems and we can't make things better. Our son had such bad allergies to so many milks and foods, he didn't eat good. He was sick all the time. We ended up giving him Pepsi or Coke in his bottle just to get something down him. The doctor was fine with it because he had to have something. Doctor picked him up one day and sat him on the exam table and said “Well, kid it looks like you made it.” He than looked at me and said he didn’t think he was going to make it. Later when he was better we were able to give him juices he could handle. All in all he grew up healthy, has good teeth and bones and very active.

Wonderful tips for raising healthy and happy kids. Spending quality time with kids and really listening to them is also important. An easy way is at the dinner table each night where people can discuss what has transpired during the day. Getting to know their friends and the parents of those friends is also important. Encouragement, hugs, laughter and a sense of humor also helps. Voted up, useful, beautiful and will share. Thanks!
