Are you afraid to reveal your age?

Updated on April 24, 2016

Undeniably, when topics about age are brought, nobody wants to talk about it unless he or she is a toddler or a preschooler excited to tell his or her aunties or uncles about his or her age and the things she or he already achieved.

Actresses, models or any public figure women whose work are in line with the physical beauty often struggle with ageing. Beauty goes opposite with age. It fades. Ageing causes wrinkles, sagging of skin, and whitening or graying of hair. These are the undesirable effect of ageing which directly hurt the people whose jobs are dependent on physical attractiveness. Most of the time, they suffer and battle with depression.

However, to some they’re really not into sharing their ages because of the lack of achievement in their lives. Some ages forty or even fifty but got no house to live in, no car to drive, and always hit the due date before can pay the bills. These hurt somebody’s ego of living without attaining what they work and hope for.

But for me, there is one thing beautiful with ageing; the wisdom you gained from experiences. It really doesn’t matter how old or young you are as long as you keep doing what you’ve wanted, keep trying for your dreams. We ought not to compare with others because we come from different situations in lives, we have different struggles, and different circumstances every day. If we continually compare ourselves to others and end up belittling ourselves, nothing positive is going to happen in our lives. We should start appreciating our own ways, acknowledge our small achievements, recognize our little and persistent effort to reach our goals. We really don’t know behind the scenes of how somebody accomplishes his masterpiece or how many people help him or her to get there. Let us not focus on the end but the journey on getting there; the triumphs behind trials.

We should be proud of our own very self and love it like no other. We are God’s creation and our God is a Perfect God and surely we are His work of outstanding artistry.
