Diaper Bag Backpacks

Updated on June 27, 2009

Diaper Bag Backpack

One of the advantages of a Backpack type Diaper Bag is you have both hands free to better hold your baby.

Like regular diaper bags the Backpack versions have ample storage space and are usually very rugged.

There are some versions of the Baby Diaper Backpacks that are designed more with the dad’s body frame in mind. So, you might want to make your selection depending on who is going to be carrying the backpack diaper bag the most; mom or dad.

Usually you will also be able to easily hang the diaper bag backpack from a stroller so you don’t have to carry it all the time.

If you are new to diaper bags then here is a list of things you might want to consider always having handy in your bag when you leave home:

  • Several bottles with water in them
  • Can of Formula
  • Baby Sunscreen and Sunglasses
  • Several blankets (heavy and light)
  • Couple of Outfits depending on how long you will be gone
  • Infant Tylenol
  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Lots and lots of toys
  • Burp Cloth
  • Sippy with juice
  • Bowl, spoon and pack of baby food
  • Pacifier
  • Packs of tissue

I’m sure this is not everything but as you can see you need lots of room. You want your backpack diaper bag itself to be light weight because it is going to get heavy with all your stuff in it.

You might want to consider a smaller diaper bag that is used for short trips to the doctor or maybe to mom’s house where you already have a stash of a lot of this stuff.
