Top 5 Best Educational Toddler -:Television Shows Videos Movies and Series
Toddler Reviewed and Mother Approved
As a mother of two I have seen my share of children's television shows and educational series. I swear I have every episode of Thomas the Tank Engine memorized!
But unfortunately, I feel that there are so few educational, non-violent or just plain worthless cartoons aired for our children that I have decided to share what I feel to be the very best educational and fun series for toddlers.
Educational and entertaining? These are a must have for your toddler!
Sid the Science Kid
If there is one show that I just love, it's Sid the Science kid. Sid learns at school with his friends as well as at home with his mom, dad and baby sister.
His grandmother picks him up daily from school. She always has a story to tell. But what is best is Sid always has a question that needs answering; such as "Why are my shoes shrinking?" or "Why did my ice pop melt?" With each episode, they explore and test theories to find the answers. Science is fun!
Sid is definetley entertaining and educational.
Baby Einstein
Baby Einsteins name says it all. From 4 months to 4 years Baby Einstein is loved among toddlers and parents alike.
Baby Einstein offers special guests, singing and dancing along with favorite lovable characters that teach your child shapes, colors, words and even sign language through fun!
Baby Einstein offers a colorful way of reinforcing a positive message. Many of the DVDs include Discovery Cards and other merchandise to help your little one interactively learn.
Brainy Baby
The Brainy Baby videos, right brain and left brain, are the best of the baby videos by far. My daughter was able to start identifying letters & numbers at about 1 1/2 years old. She counts as we go up the stairs and tells me what letters are in her books, she is now 2. This is definitely due to these videos.
Brainy Baby videos are approx 30 minutes long which is perfect for mom to straighten up or take some time to enjoy a beverage with your feet up. Although Brainy Baby does suggest you watch with your child to reinforce and support their learning.
I personally advise parents to give Brainy Baby a try. Similar to Baby Einstein, this video tends to keep the attention of the older toddler (1 1/2-3).
Mickey Mouse ClubHouse
Disney and Mickey Mouse are household names. Disney has always had our kids in mind when making movies or creating cartoons and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is no different.
All the gang is involved to help your child learn. Pluto, Minnie, Donald and Daisy, oh and of course Goofy join Mickey in this interactive show. Your little one learns to count, colors, shapes and problem solving.
Mickey is a must have in everyone home.
Little Einsteins
From the beginning of every show, preschoolers are actively encouraged to interact with the Little Einsteins. Leo, June, Quincy, Annie are a group of 4-6 yr olds that encourage viewer interaction and teamwork to succeed in their “mission.” Rocket is their transportation that takes these explorers to famous landmarks throughout the world. Classical music is intertwined during each episode. A famous piece of artwork is also included as reference to the theme of the show.
Little Einsteins is not only fun but educational in history, music and art.
