Merry Christmas to my child, Eva

Updated on December 28, 2012

May your days be merry and bright

Dear Eva,

May the Lord bring many blessings to you over the rest of the school year and beyond. Your greeting touched me in a very special way and when I really needed it.

I am glad you realize that as I stay in your business, chastising, interceding, stalking your Facebook and encouraging, it is because you are my child. We have have to ready you for graduation.

Second semester I look forward to us working on a relationship with you know who. In the meantime ...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

I really needed a Christmas break and a lift up

As I wound down activities of the fall semester, I began receiving Christmas cards, notes, and gifts from my students. I stacked them all in a pile without opening them because I wanted to allocate time to laugh at the silliness and enjoy the notes of appreciation and encouragement. In the current teaching climate it is business as usual to be reminded of all of my shortcomings by administrators. My joy comes from the personalized expressions of affection and appreciation from my colleagues and my students who have become my children.

Christmas greetings to all

During the Christmas season we have the opportunity to tell others how much we care. I keep all handwritten notes from my students. They help me through the difficult times and make it easier to go to school everyday.

Merry Christmas to my Hubpages family and my children!

“Christmas is not as much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.”

      ~Janice Maeditere

Your heartfelt hub reminded me about this quotation that I always remember this season. My mother taught music in elementary schools in New Jersey for years, and was often remembered by her students the same way you are today. You are much more than a teacher; you are a gift to these students who express their sincere appreciation to you in return. Merry Christmas, Diane, and thank you for this lovely hub. :-)

Thank you so much for this. For me it was Mr. Land (Johnny Land). He was the parents I never had.

This is lovely. As a former teacher I can relate to the warmth your students' words bring to your heart. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you.
