Missing your family members who go on vacation

Updated on August 18, 2012

Recently my dad and youngest brother went to visit my grandmother in Kentucky, unfortunately my other brother, mother and I could not go because of work. But we were happy that they were able to go because my grandmother is getting up there in age and he wanted to go see her before anything ever happened to her.

My father and youngest brother were very excited to go. They left for two weeks and honestly things weren't the same as if they were home. I live on my own but I know that I missed them because I would go over to my parents house and things weren't the same when we sat down to eat lunch or even supper. My mom would say that she didn't miss my dad so much but I knew deep inside that she did. There is nothing like having the whole family home. The good thing is that they both kept in contact.

My youngest brother was always updating his status on Facebook and so I would get on to check what was happening while they were there, or we would text each other, sometimes even talk to each other on the phone. But I must admit, I kind of missed him.

So now that they are both back, it is great to have them both home. Asking them how they enjoyed their trip, they answered it was okay but like always there is nothing like home after a few days away. I am sure that everyone feels this way most of the time but one thing for sure is that there is nothing like having the whole family home.

Facebook is a great way to stay in touch with family members and "experience" the vacation with them.
