Mother is special always!

Updated on May 8, 2011

Mother is special always! Why need a mother's day?

The moment a child is born, the mother is also born. She never existed before. The woman existed, but the mother, never. A mother is something absolutely new. They say that one will understand the gain and pain of a parent only when they become a parent. How true? Motherhood is a great experience. It is very explicit when you see the messages in Facebook. “My son told his first word”, “My daughter says ‘b’ when I say ‘a’” ,“I’m a proud father, my son has passed his kindergarten”, “My kids first day at school”, “I’m nervous- my 4 year old kid's first stage performance”- these messages seem to be silly for some but don’t know how much happiness it gives to the child’s mother.

There was a tree that gave a little boy apples to eat, branches to climb, and shade to sleep under. This made them both happy. As the boy grew into a man, the tree gave him her apples to sell for money, then her branches to build a house, and finally her trunk to make a boat. When the boy became a tired old man, the tree, by now nothing but a stump, offered him all she had left to sit on and rest and the tree was happy. In this story of The Giving Tree, the tree is none other than a mother. A mother offers her helping hand to her child till her last breath. And a Jewish proverb very correctly says, “God could not be everywhere, and therefore He made mothers.”

Every child who is born in this world is good, but how he becomes depends on her mother's grooming. The good mother, the wise mother... is more important to the community than even the ablest man; her career is more worthy of honor and is more useful to the community than the career of any man, no matter how successful. The Arabs say that, “The mother is a school; if she is well reared, you are sure to build a nation.” But why is it sometimes the most important job in the world is least valued?

When coming through all the offers and captions about mother’s day came across one thought which was different. “Mother's Day, it's beautiful thought, but it's somebody's hurting conscience that thought of the idea. It was someone who had neglected their mother for years, and then they figured out: I got to do something about Momma. And knowing Momma was that easy, they figured, "we'll give her a day, and it will be all right with Momma." Give her a day, and then in return Momma gives you the other 364.” This thought made me think. Mother is special always and every day in your life is because of her. No gift to your mother can ever equal her gift to you – life. You celebrate her or not, her blessings are always with her kid, wherever they are! A mother understands what a child does not say. The debt of gratitude we owe our mother and father goes forward, not backward. What we owe our parents is the bill presented to us by our children. Let us make our mothers feel special always and so will happen to us! Just don’t want to wish Happy Mother’s day but Mothers, happy days always!

Words of a true mother! I agree with you fully that mothers are special. However, I have seen many a mother who has not borne a single child, but who has raised and nurtured many. Conversely, I know many women who have borne children, but who will never be worthy of the title of mother. My conclusion then is that some mothers are born while some become and there are the ones who will just never qualify!

How profound- a mother is born on the day she gives birth. I had not thought of this, lol! It is so obvious but I was blind to this concept. Thank you for the beauty of this insight. Voted up!

A nice hub. Voted up and beautiful. I too believe, one day is not enough for mothers. Celebration of Mother's Day without deep love and respect for her through out the life is fake. Here I want to add that Mother's Day is a birth anniversary of motherhood. It must be celebrated by children in any way they want but definitely with a true unending love for her just like mothers celebrate the birth anniversary of their child with love for it through out the life.

      Well written. Keep it up!

No matter, how old you are, no matter if you are a child or adult - mother always plays a key role in the life of any person. I absolutely agree with Karanda that "mothers should be thanked every day" :)
