When my son plays Classical Gas, it sounds just as good, if not better. (I do not have a video of my son playing the guitar at the moment.)

Meet My Son

My son is a musician, artist and poet, yet he does not know it!

My son, who will turn 25 on June 1st, today, is a great artist and poet, and as the title of this hub indicates, he just does not know it.

I constantly tell him of his great gifts of music, painting and writing poetry, yet he does not think he is that good.

He is also a great musician and was accepted to a Magnet school in high school, which really was based solely due to his blowing them away with his sheer talent in playing Classical Gas on the guitar. One day he just picked up the guitar and started playing that complicated song without any music to read or anything. He could have gone to Julliard with scholarships, but alas, he was just not interested in such, at that young age, as he had to sow a few oaks.

He loves to paint and I have included some of his painting here in this hub.

At the age of 18, he had gotten into trouble due to drinking, and we realized he needed to get help, and he did, and it took the first time (through much prayer and by the grace of God). Praise Him! My son has been sober going on six years. He was sober before any of his children (my grandchildren) were born.

Not only is he is an exceptional dad to his children, he also has full custody of his girls, even at a young age. His son was born later and they all now live with the love of his life.

He also helps many with the disease of addiction all over the state through AA. He chairs AA meetings. He is a sponsor to persons twice his age from all walks of life, from professionals, attorneys, judges; you name it, as the disease of addiction does not choose only certain types of persons. So, even at his very young age, he is helping others in great ways to get their lives back on track, or even save their lives by seeing they go through the 12-step program of AA.

During the time when his girls were only three months old and two and a half years old, they came to live with my husband and I for about 18 months, until he could get back on his own.

Although, my son is able to help so many, he was not able to help his very own wife, who had gotten addicted to prescription painkillers prescribed by her doctor for back pain. To make a long story short, it went from prescription drugs, alcohol, and then street drugs and then down into the gutter, almost literally. My son tried everything he knew to try to help his wife, but she did not want the help, and my son had to make a very hard, but wise decision, to take his children and leave their home, as his children were being placed in harm's way. For over a year, my son had to take care of his babies and a sick wife, who could not even care for herself.

We started noticing things did not seem right, but my son did not tell us of such hardships, as he just knew in his heart he could help his wife, but this was not the case. He realized he had to get those girls out of that environment and real fast too, and showed up at our home with them both. After he told us what was going on, of course, they we welcomed them with opened arms. This all happened during the time I found out I had DCIS breast cancer. Of course, I was healed of the cancer and he and his girls are just fine, all by the grace of God.

Turning 18 . . . and "Doing what He Wanted to Do"

When my son was going through his rebellious stage, when he turned 18, he went right out and got a tattoo, and he has written a funny (but not really) poem about his tattoos. I think he had gotten the first tattoo just to do the opposite of what I was telling him about his future employment, in regards to tattoos not being in certain places, where employers would not want to hire him due to their visibility.

Sharing a Poem Written by My Son About His Tattoos

My son writes in a whole different manner than I write, as you will read!

My Tattoos

By Jeffrey Kyle Davis

I cannot tell you what they mean,

Or why I got them for that matter,

Because I got them all in a blackout.

I woke up sore and didn’t know why.

I muddled in confusion as to why my body ached.

I started to cry while I stood dumbfounded

At the grim reaper tattooed on my forearm.

I also found one on my neck,

And another on my stomach and chest.

Now everywhere I go, people ask,

What they mean and if they hurt.

I honestly reply, “I haven’t a clue.”

Suddenly, I begin to cry.

“What is wrong?” they ask, baffled by my emotions.

I reply, “I haven’t a clue.”

I quickly think of a brilliant lie,

I tell them; today I found out that I have cancer,

And vehemently run to the bar.

Where I drink with fierce loyalty.

Upon awakening, I step out of the bed,

And in my intoxicated slumber,

I realize my hand is killing me.

I panic, and dreadfully glance down at my hand,

Where in Old English letters,

My grandmother’s name sits tattooed to my knuckles.

I cry uncontrollably,

And wonder hopelessly, when this will end?

Probably when I stop going to the bar.

But until then, I guess I’ll keep waking up with new tattoos.

This story is sad, because it is true.

© June 13, 2010

In reality, the tattoos on his knuckles say, in Old English letters, "P A P A" for his "Papa Tank", who was my husband's step-dad. He died from lung cancer a couple of years ago. His Papa Tank served in the U.S. Army Rangers. My son loved him very much.

My son thought, for this poem, it would be funnier to say his grandmother's name was tattooed on his knuckles.

My Son's Three Beautiful Children

As I stated, my son has full custody of his girls, and now has a son with his new love in his life. They are a very happy family now.

These are his three beautiful children he blessed me with at a young age! There is never a dull moment at their house.

He is a hard worker and works to provide for his children, so maybe one day, he can devote more time to his gifts of music, writing and art.

God is so faithful to turn his life around, as I have prayed everyday of his life. So great, so great is His faithfulness. I went to fight for my son when the enemy came to kill, steal and destroy him, and this was one of those times I had to put on that full armor of God and go into battle against the enemy’s schemes.

Sharing a Special Poem Written by My Son

A Picture of God

By Jeffrey Kyle Davis

Today I drew a picture of God.

Oh, what a beautiful face it was.

After all the years of hopeless searching,

I found Him in the strangest of places.

So, I drew a picture to remember Him.

Surprised, I did not have to wait

For the grave or pray.

How odd, for I was dying that day.

For hell had been in me.

The inescapable solitude

I so unskillfully built.

With my raw, bare hands bleeding

From my vanity.

This was the life, my self-willed.

I screamed at the top

Of my tarred, black, smoker’s lungs,

Of how I now felt the pain

And was no longer numb.

At that moment, I felt peace,

When a loving hand touched the

Despicable me.

God was in the touch of this man.

A man who once felt the fatigue

Of the road most traveled with the bitter end.

I found God in a selfless hand

And drew a picture to remind myself of

How grateful I am.

The Prodigal Son

Often, I am reminded of the Parable of the Lost Son at Luke 15:11-31 in the Bible, when I think of my son.

Although our son was lost for a bit, we always loved him and never stopped loving him, as we placed our faith and hope in our Lord God, and we did get our son back!

So great, so great is His faithfulness.

My son most likely knows he does have true talent in all of these areas; however, he also realizes his first priority in life . . . his three beautiful children, who have blessed his life and mine!

Early Morning Text Received

The love of my son's life texted me early this morning saying that my son wanted to get a new tattoo, so, if we wanted, we could just get him cash for his birthday.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!! :)

I believe your son has great promise. His struggles sound so much like my early life, including having custody of my three daughters. If he can paint, play music, and write, he is definitely showing signs of a natural artist.

      Hi Wayne,

Thanks so much for your visit here this day.

Wow, I appreciate you sharing that with me. I am glad he had gotten it (the sowing of his oats) out of his system at a very young age of 19, and now he is able to be the best dad he can be to his three children, just as you were.

We all do have to find our way, no doubt.

Have a great weekend, Faith Reaper

Faith, this is so very inspirational!...your love for your son shines bright; it is felt with every word you write.

For such a young man he has faced much adversity, but obviously stronger for it. An artist indeed..... I love the poem and the paintings, I can see why he admires Vincent, they both have the same innate gentle beauty. Life will always test us, if we are fortunate, we learn what is really important. Your grandchildren are little angels, they are simply gorgeous.

      Best wishes to you all.

      Hi Jo (tobusiness),

It is always such a blessing when you stop by to read!

Wow, thank you so much for such lovely comments here. Yes, we got to love them, even when they may put us through much trials, but when we have love in our hearts, all things are possible!

I will tell him of your comment about Vincent, and he will just really love you!!! :)

You're so right, life will test us, no doubt, and I am so thankful he was able to turn his life completely around at such a young age and become such a responsible dad to his children.

I appreciate your lovely comment about my grandchildren. I know I am biased due to they are my grands, but they really bring a lot of joy and beauty into my life. They are really the sweetest angels ever in my eyes.

You have blessed me this day with your visit and heartfelt comments.

Have a lovely evening dearest Jo.

      Hi Wetnose,

Always great to have you visiting! Yes, he has his plate full, plus he has a lot of talent, at least in my eyes.

I did not know what to think when he blessed me with a grandchild at such a young age, and the thought of being a grandparent had not even entered my mind, as I was just assuming it would be a long time off, and then two more came :) !!!

hahaha Life is always full of surprises, and now I cannot even imagine life without my precious little darlings!

Oh, yes, the Lord has His plan for my son, and back then, we had no clue what that may be; however, if it were not for him going through what he went through, then he would not be the person he is today, and that is one who is helping hundreds and hundreds of others with the disease of addiction to alcohol.

I praise God for the fact that my son was able to turn himself around so fast and especially at a young age, as many go on for years up into their later years and some never recover from the damage.

Thank you so much for leaving such thoughtful and kind comments. I appreciate you.

Earlier this day we celebrated with my son on his birthday today, so it was a lovely day.

Give those furry babies a big hug from me . . . and their best treats too.

Have a lovely weekend, and the rain has arrived. Stay dry.

      Hugs, Faith Reaper

That is certainly a big step for a man to take to raise his children on his own. I think most would hand it over to their parents or the mother's parents. He does sound like a good son and you have a beautiful family. Those are good paintings and I knew the first one as soon as I saw it. I did a pretty good poem about that, I think, I need to get it back out soon. This is my sister's birthday today, too. Hope he had a good one.

      Hi Stephanie,

Thanks so much for stopping by to read. I appreciate the kind comments. Yes, I believe he has talent, and hopefully he can develop it even more as he matures. I know I am his mother, so I am biased; however, he is very brilliant. He is an avid reader of great literature and, everything else, and so in his reading, he learns much and can put that knowledge towards his own writing.

Yes, he has blessed me with three precious little ones in this life, no doubt!

Again, I appreciate your kind words here.

Thank you so much. Yes, never once did he bat an eye when it came to those girls back then, and never looked back, only forward.

I appreciate you saying that those are good paintings. He has many more to choose from, but those are the ones I could sneak a snapshot of; however, he did agree to stand in front of the first painting.

He does have a full plate no doubt with taking care of his three beautiful children, and as he tells me often, he just takes one day at a time.

I would love to read your poem too sweetie. You really should bring it out!

      Hi Joseph (Lord De Cross),

Yes, when I think back six years ago, I could not imagine all of this for my son, but God is so good and His plan for our lives are always better than anything we can come up with for sure.

I know it was meant to be for my son and my whole family to endure the trails of back then, so that my son could become the man He planned for him to be, to literally help hundreds and hundreds of others by telling his story to others who are suffering, and now recovering due to his strong testimony (and believe me, it is a strong one)!

Thank you for leaving such lovely comments and well wishes here this evening. I pray you have a blessed Father's Day too.

I am glad you loved his poem :)! Obviously, his writing is a bit different from my writing, and that is good. For my birthday this year, he gave me a book of poetry, "Ariel" by Sylvia Plath, and he stressed a point to me as seriously as he could, "Now, Mom, Sylvia Plath could get away with writing as she did, but you shouldn't attempt to write like she does." :) I replied, "Don't worry son, I believe that will not be a problem." :) Only in my dreams could I write like Sylvia, well, not even in my dreams! LOL I know what he meant, as he was trying to protect me with such a warning . . . to not even attempt such! That would be impossible, so no worries. How sweet.

Have a lovely rest of the weekend.

God bless. In His Love, Faith Reaper

      Hi Dearest Maria,

Yes, those three little blessings from above are his greatest achievements to date!!! And I love reaping the benefits of their love for me :)

He does have many talents, and I know one day he will reap the benefits of such; however, he is already doing so, as when he paints, writes or whatever, it is a means of release and brings much peace. As writers, we can relate to that I believe, as I know writing can be a great release of expressing what we have inside, which must come out of us in some form of artist endeavor.

I am proud to call you friend, "My Sweetest Friend".

Today was a lovely day, and I hope you have a lovely rest of the weekend too.

      Faith Reaper,

Hello sweet lady! What a beautiful hub and you, you are such an inspiration. So many are apprehensive to share moments like this because it is easier to keep an appearance of 'familial perfection'. What is perfection anyway? Is there such a thing and whose standards are they? This is my idea of perfection! Nobody wants to see suffering or a person lost, but it happens and to share those experiences creates opportunities for others who struggle to relate and perhaps get through their own lost moments a little easier. This is not a sad story but a glorious one. He was lost and now he's found and what a finding it is! He is a beautiful man, no surprise as he is an extension of you. A wonderful father, with beautiful children... and I must say, that Lily bears a striking resemblance to her grandmother! :-) His artwork is absolutely amazing. Those paintings truly touched me and I can see the passion behind the brush. I am so happy that your son has found a better place and has a wonderful woman by his side and of course, the support of a wonderful mother. Thank you so much for your humbleness and sharing this story of your beautiful family! Happy belated Birthday to Jeffrey!

Up and many others, sharing as well!

      Hi Dearest Cat,

Thank you for leaving such lovely and wonderful comments, and I would expect no less, as you are such a lovely and wonderful person!

So very true, and I know of not one . . . not one . . . "perfect" person on this planet, and that is okay, as we are all just as human as the next. We all have our struggles and trials to go through in this life no doubt, but if we persevere through them, we will be the stronger for it, and really become the man or woman we are meant to be. Can you imagine a person who has never had any trials or tribulations to go through, and how much character such a person may lack. Although, it would be nice to not have to face such trials, but in the long run, we can look back and understand why we had to face such trials.

Thank you so much for your comments as to his art. He will appreciate that so much, as do I. It was hard to just choose four, as he does have many more from which to choose.

His older sister, graduated from a Liberal Arts college with a degree in Fine Arts, and she is an awesome artist too, but that is really not her passion. Funny thing is, she found a job in the forensics field and loves it. One never knows where life will take us. And that is always what makes it so exciting, as we really do not know!

Yes, a lot of people do say that I do look like Lily, especially when I allow my hair to dry naturally in lieu of blow drying it, as it is naturally wavy and curly, just like her hair---wild hair. LOL

I appreciate the votes up and share.

Faith: What a beautiful tribute to your son. He is truly artistically talented in so many different ways. The music, the art - his paintings are wonderful. Sometimes, these children need to go through rebellious times - I don't know why exactly, but they do. Thanks you to and God he has seen his way back and thank God he has the children and his love with him. That is what is important in life. But, time permitting, I hope he does more artistically and shares this with the world. What a wonderful article, Faith. I so enjoyed reading this.

Always great to see you here!

I appreciate all of your wonderful comments here concerning my son and his talents.

Yes, I praise God, as His plans for us are always much better than any we can come up with no doubt about it!

Maybe when his children are older, he can devote more time to such talents.

I am glad you enjoyed the read.

      Faith Reaper,

Your responses are always so comforting and reassuring! Yes, the hard times we go through aren't necessarily appreciated at the time, but they always have such an effect on us after we've made it through them. I'm just grateful that I make it through those tough times. You're right, we all go through them and it only strengthens our appreciation and patience for ourselves and others.

What a beautiful and artistic family you have, you must be so proud; what a great job you've done! The forensic field; that's pretty awesome in itself!

I just knew I saw you in Lily, too cute! All of his children are beautiful, absolutely beautiful... but I had to giggle because I felt that I was looking at Faith on rewind! :D

Hugs and Love, to an excellent mother, grandmother, woman and friend.

Thanks so much for your heartfelt comments towards my family and me too, and I like that . . . "Faith on rewind"! :)

I changed out the photos of my son and the love of his life, to one where they were both at the beach, as it is a great photo of them.

Yes, my family does seem to be very artist. Even my mother played the piano, and would sketch a lot, so we may have gotten from her possibly. Oh, my son is an excellent pianist too. I cannot play a thing! LOL

Hugs and love to you too, one awesome all around woman! :)

      My dearest Faith,

let me first start quoting Harry Fosdick : He who knows no hardships will know no hardihood. He who faces no calamity will need no courage. Mysterious though it is, the characteristics in human nature which we love best grow in a soil with a strong mixture of troubles.

You are blessed to have such a wonderful son and grandkids .None is infallible. We are here on earth to live, make and learn from mistakes, act, react ,love and beloved and parents are the only ones who are obligated to love us; from the rest of the world you had to earn it.

I m so glad to hear that you got recovered from breast cancer and your son got away from addiction. You are such an amazing woman and you deserve only the bests .

Just stand by your son,he has a promising future.God bless you all.

Yes, we all, hopefully, learn a great deal from our past mistakes and become the man or woman we are meant to be in this life.

I am very blessed no doubt. Yes, I was actually healed from DCIS Breast Cancer in 2011, and I wrote about that experience here, which I have spotlighted on my profile page.

Again late, I am, but so glad I finally got here to read this awesome hub about your son, Faith!

Sadly, it takes many years for true artists to accept themselves as artists. They surely 'test' a lot of dangerous paths to eventually keep the good and chuck the bad.

      Those are awesome paintings!

And the most beautiful kids. I can see on the face of your son's beautiful 'new love' that she is sensitive and able to understand and accommodate his artistic (and complicated) soul.

Beautiful hub, Faith, oozing with love.

My best wishes to all of you, and also to the mother of the two girls. Sadly, some people just don't have what it takes to fight the power of drugs. They are born victims. But there is always hope, and I do hope she will eventually win the battle for the sake of her beautiful daughters.

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment. Yes, although all of us face many trials in this life each day, it is always good to place our trust and hope in the Lord to get us through each trail no doubt.

My son does have a lot of talents, but little time to really use them often, being he is so busy working keeping those three children of his fed :), who I just happen to have at my house for about the next five days. They are such a joy and I cannot imagine life without them, so I am glad my son blessed me with them, even at such a young age. So, I am trying to play catch up, as I try to give them my total attention when they are visiting.

      Dear Faith Reaper

Just catching up on a few, and I'm glad I saw this one.....What a thoroughly pleasant, and engaging page, comprising many colourful chapters from the lives of your nearest and dearest.Your son is a prodigious talent, and you and your hubby must be so proud of his triumph over adversity, and excelling through his daily battle, whilst lifting others in the process.I think the AA was set up by two professionals, one a doctor, if memory serves, who did so in order to remain sober - " Let's not louse this thing up ", he said to his friend, I recall it being said. :)

Your grandchildren are beautiful; thank you so much for sharing a personal part of your fascinating life with us, regaled in candid honesty, offering renewed hope to those who have, or may still be going through difficult trials.

As an addendum, I never usually leave links on other folks' hallowed pages, but I thought that your sunshine might appreciate this one...It's a spiced up version, played with Meditteranean passion!

      Happy Holiday weekend to you, and your family;

      Hi sweet Mekenzie,

Yes, it seems we both do have those prodigal sons who have returned and God has used in a most powerful way no doubt! That is amazing as to their similarities.

I praise God and claimed His promises each and every day, so all the glory, honor and praise goes to Him, as He truly has a plan to prosper us and to not harm us, for hope and a future . . . at least that is the promised I claimed for my son in Jeremiah 29:11!

I am so thrilled to hear about your son too and how God has worked in his life.

We are both truly blessed to know of His blessings, claim them . . .knowing that without a doubt, He will work it all out for good in His perfect timing.

A very beautiful read you have shared here, Faith. How very loving you are and all your gratitude to Him for the son of your life and your grandchildren. Beautiful family! This heartfelt written hub made me smile all the way.

He's got talent and I immediately knew that was Vincent van Gogh up on the wall painted by your son's hands. Van Gogh is one of my favourite painters too, not just of the artist's work but learning of his life story. I listened and watched the guitar video and just imagined your son playing it.

He is beautiful and I see that in his cute children too. You are so blessed, Faith with your family, your lovely home, and your loving and caring self.

      Much love~ Tess

Aw, Tess, you are precious with your loving comments here to all! I am so blessed by your visit here this night. I will let my son know you believe he is talented. Thank you for saying so.

Oh, I love Van Gogh too as well as Monet, well pretty much a ton of artists lol.

I am blessed beyond measure, in knowing my family and I can face many trails together with the help of the good Lord no doubt. He is our strength.

You are so very blessed too with your lovely daughter and many gifts and the beauty that you share here with all of us in your writings.

Dearest Faith - This is the most beautiful tribute to your handsome and very talented son. I am totally loving this young man. It takes an extremely special man to raise his children alone. I know what a sacrifice this is because my own son (now with the angels) also raised his 4 children alone.

The paintings by your son are so amazing. And I enjoyed his wonderful guitar playing in the video.

Those two little angels nestled among the Christmas lights are adorable. And I shed a tear or two as I read your son's poem.

But his greatest gift of all is his mother. You have opened your heart and shared perhaps your greatest work of all - your son!

      Voted up UABI and sharing.

Hugs and beautiful blessings to you my dear friend ~Audrey~

      Hi Audrey,

I am so glad you stopped by to read here! Thank you so much for leaving such thoughtful and wonderful comments. Yes, he is a dedicated daddy. Aw, thank you for sharing about your wonderful son, now the tears are flowing.

I appreciate your generous comments about my son's art. Oh, the video is not my son, it is just the song he can play. I will have to ask him if I can video him playing "Classical Gas" as he is awesome when he does play! Then I will switch out the videos.

Yes, his poetry is just a bit different than mine : ), and of course it was written during his reflecting back on times prior to his being sober. I praise God for he has been sober over six years now, and before his daughters and now son were born.

Again, thank you for such lovely comments here. You're the best!

I appreciate the vote up and share.

Hugs and beautiful blessings to you too sweet friend,

This is beautiful, Faith... so nice to meet your son. He is a wonderful artist, a true poet who can express the beauty of his heart in a song. He may not know it as genuine-ity lies in the inmost part of his being, but it shows and reflects in him the wonderful side of your efforts. No one's perfect and his finding way back means he's got a heart that is of the Lord. Lucky he is he's your son. You're simply an amazing mom.

It's hard to see our children suffer! As parents we want the best for our children but sometimes they have to go through a rebellious period; may be it's their way of learning and getting independent.

Your son went through a lot but he is coming through brilliantly! I am sure that you and your husband were a great inspiration for him!

He has adorable little girls with pretty smiles and cute baby boy!

He received a great gift to have found the love of his life who is also welcoming those two little girls.

I believe your prayers have been answered; someone was definitely watching over your son!

Thank you for sharing this beautiful story of hope!

      What a lovely name!

So great for your visit here this day! Yes, indeed it is one of the hardest things to endure and watch!!!

Oh, yes, he has done a complete turn around in his life, and thankfully at such a young age and it did not go on into middle age and beyond, especially for the sake of his children!!! Thankfully he straightened out prior to any of his children being born.

Yes, his love of his life is such a blessing to have found that one for sure, and for her to love all is a blessing and beyond, and gives us all such great peace.

I know prayers were answered too.

      Bless you, Faith Reaper

      Hi Joelle (kidscrafts),

Aw, yes, thank you so much for your thoughts and prayers. Yes, my sweet granddaughter (the oldest, at five years old), fell off of the monkey bars at school and dislocated her elbow and broke her arm terribly. They put two pins in her elbow and one pin is so very close to a nerve that she MAY not be able to have use of her pinky finger. However, as to her arm, she has so much terrible nerve damage that they are saying she may never have FULL use of her left arm again. It is not paralyzed or anything. She will be able to use it a bit, but not be able to stretch it out all the way as normal, so they say. However, I know He heals and I did not sleep one wink last night for praying without ceasing.

She was already back at home last night, but in a lot of pain and this day resting but still, of course, having pain.

God bless you and thank you, again. In His Love, Faith Reaper

Faith, I'm touched. Voted up and across but funny, shared FB. I was once an addict myself and it's tough. You can't change until you want too. I struggled for years and it took hitting rock bottom to change. It's hard when we love a person so much, very hard. With tough lessons, there's valuable learning that prepares us. Just glad everything worked out in the end, through God, it always does. God Bless Faith.

      Thanks so much dear lyric,

Yes, addiction is such a terrible disease no doubt, and I praise God my son has been sober for about six years before any of his children were born!

I am so glad you are doing so well and, yes, I believe all of us learn much from the school of hard knocks in this life for sure!

Yes, I can see in my son and you too, how God's plan is working out just as it should, although, those brutal trials we all have to go through, do actually prepare us and mature us into the person we are today, and hopefully all those suffering from such a terrible disease do seek the help they need to actually be able to live!

God bless you for sharing here. I am blessed to know you via HP and I can see what a beautiful plan He has for you in this life! You are such a kind and genuine person.

Thank you for your kind comments here and votes up and share. You're the best!

This was such a great look into yours and the life of your son Faith. He is extremely talented. How in the world can he think otherwise? I suspect he knows he is. I think sometimes our talents scare us. I know that's odd, but I think it's true.

His poetry is really good. The one about the tattoos almost made me cry. I think he doesn't realize that he's showing his sadness and fears that he can't talk about on the outside of his body. If you look at his tattoos, you are reading his internal sadness, his inner demons of struggle, everything maybe that's hard for him to express otherwise. Those're just my thoughts though.

He has an artist's hand as well. His paintings are lovely. How great that he took his little girls out of a bad situation and brought them to a good one. They are lovely. Soooo Adorable!!

This was a really heartfelt hub to read Faith. I could feel how much you love your son, and how you are proud of all that he has accomplished.

      Hi Dear Missy,

Oh, you are such a sweetheart leaving such great comments here! Wow, you sure have amazing insight and observations for sure. I believe you are right about his tattoos and I never really looked at it from that perspective, so thank you.

I remember when he was a small boy and I bought him a sketch pad and a charcoal pencil to sketch with. He drew a sea captain and at first I thought he had traced it as it was so good. His charcoal sketches are really dramatic.

Yes, he is a great dad to his three children and now he has another son on the way, due right on New Year's!

I appreciate you sharing your thoughts here, as they are truly insightful.

Bless you real good and have a Happy Thanksgiving

      Hey Faith.

Hope all is well. It's been a while "I know." Such a powerful message. Great to revisit this again after a few years. So many can relate, it's tough to get it back in line. Just remember to bake cookies for them :)

My girlfriend struggles with fertility so we are planning on adoption. Pending on the age of the kid, could this mean my own parents would be grandparents in their 40's as both of them are in their 50's now but perhaps some mathematical reduction (i.e., an 8-year-old is adopted, subtract 8 years, gets my parents back to their 40's) and then it only was a delayed revelation that they were grandparents?
