Praying for those affected

Updated on December 15, 2012

I know that many have probably written about what happened yesterday and we all have something to say about it but there is nothing like the support that everyone affected has with each other. As the news showed what each of these have families have gone through, it made me sad because this could have happened to anyone, but it is unfortunate that it happened to the families in Connecticut.

When we wake up each morning, I think that it is important to important to realize the love that we have with the family because we never know what will happen during the day. I remember when I was little that my parents would hug me and say "I love you" before I headed off to school, that to me was a special moment.

It is sad to see that so many young children died, they were not able to make a future for themselves. Their lives' were cut short before they knew it. All the children who were able to make it out will be traumatized for most of their life with what happened, this is the time that they will really need the support and love of their parents and family. This should be the time that families should be more united more than ever. Each child needs to know that they are important and loved.

With what has happened, this makes us realize how family really matters to everyone. But most importantly we should keep them in our prayers, everyone affected in this tragedy. We may not know who they are, however we should have in mind because they need to know that there are other people out there thinking about them.

My oldest granddaughter is in third grade. All I could think about was her. It's a scary thing. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those that died. Thanks for putting these thoughts and prayers so eloquently.
