Teenage Pregnancy: It's Becoming Worse

Updated on July 9, 2016

Stop Teenage Pregnancy

Teenage Pregnancy. Has it become an ordinary sight in our community? Has it become so common that we barely do anything to prevent it? Why is this happening in our community? Was it the teens' environments? Was it their family? Lack of parenting? Or wrong choice of friends?

Look everywhere around you, from your street to its end, to the squatter areas, to the city, you will see teenagers, carrying babies, jobless, starting a family, starving, at what age? 18, 16, 15, 14, 13? The youth is supposed to change the world, not diapers. The youth is supposed to be the hope of the future. Is this how you want to change the world? By being jobless? By being a mom at the age of 13? Ah, yes. Some teenage mothers managed to be successful despite being a young mom of course with the help of their family and the baby's father. But only FEW are able to do this. So many young moms with their babies are living in poverty, starving. What will they feed their babies? Rice for a two months old because you can't afford to buy milk? Teenage pregnancy is becoming worse and I discourage it!

Parents, children aren't going to be children forever. They will become teenagers someday. They will go out to the world, live the "life", feeling young, wild, and free. They will go to parties, meet new friends, particularly boys, find "love", and that's where it all starts. I suggest this verse to you parents : "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old he will not depart from it." - Proverbs 22:6. Train your chilldren while they are still young. Teach them basic life principles like "Do what is right', so when they grow up they will always remember those principles. Always try to make them open up to you and share their problems like friends, boys, crushes, or even love. This way you can see what's going on in their minds and advise them to do what's right especially when it comes to crushes or love. Teenagers today are very impulsive, right? So be their bestfriend and support and help them to do what's right. Also, prevent them from being in company of friends or peers whom you know can have bad influences in them. Keep them from friends that can lead them into committing things that can ruin their lives.

I know one way that can lead your teenage daughter or whoever reads this into a solution that no one else can give. Jesus. Jesus can make your way straight, away from those vices or temptations. Jesus is both the prevention and cure to all your problems. He will change you, only if you will trust Him and accept Him as your Lord and personal Savior. It doesn't matter if you're already a teenage mom or you made a big mistake. We all did! Read Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23 and pray.

Fathers, Mothers, I know that you don't want to see your daughter suffering from teenage pregnancy or your son from problems. Train them well with Bible principles. Take my word for it. It starts with you.
