Early Virginia Families

John MACHEN, son of John MACHEN, was born about 1655, in what is now Middlesex County,Virginia. John married Michall BLAKE, daughter of Jno. BLAKE and Jone, about 1678, in Middlesex County. Michall was born on 13 Sep 1658, in Christchurch Parish, Middlesex County. They had six children: Joseph, Michall, James, Pead Thomas, William, and Daniell.


Joseph MACHEN was born on 23 Nov 1679, in Middlesex County,Virginia.

Michall MACHEN was born on 27 May 1683, in Middlesex County,Virginia.

James MACHEN was born on 17 May 1685, in Middlesex County,Virginia.

Pead Thomas MACHEN was born on 8 Jan 1693, in Middlesex County,Virginia and died on12 Oct 1730, in Middlesex County at the age of 37. Pead “Thomas” married before 1711 had had two children: John and Ann. He then married Mary CHELTON on 8 Aug 1711, in Christchurch, Middlesex County,Virginia. Mary was born about 1695, in Virginia. They had three children: Judith, Thomas, and Henry. Mary may have been the “widow Chelton orShelton.”

William MACHEN was born 25 Feb 1693/1694 in Middlesex County,Virginia.

Daniell MACHEN was born 25 Feb 1693/1694 in Middlesex County,Virginia.
