Through Tiny Eyes

Updated on May 5, 2012

What are they seeing? What are they hearing? What are we teaching?

Are the eyes seeing fighting, abuse or swearing? Are the eyes seeing drinking, drugs or lying?

Tiny eyes are everywhere. Tiny, innocent eyes.

Are the eyes seeing PG, R, or even X?

The eyes are reflectors.

The eyes are prisms.

Tiny eyes will react to what they see.

What do they see?

Do they see love or hate?

What they see will be their fate.

Eyes of awe or eyes of fear?

Eyes that learn from those that rear.

Do we see those tiny eyes;

watching and learning

lessons that could lead to burning.

Do they see prayer and thanksgiving

or are they watching depravation?

The Point

I write this in hopes that people everywhere will realize that children ARE watching our actions.

They learn from all of us. Not just their parents; all of us.

We all want the world to be a better place, but what exactly are we teaching the children?

I am writing this to book writers, movie makers and just general adults.

We all teach children; their tiny eyes are watching.

Keep all this in mind when you are in the mall, grocery store or restaurant. Almost anywhere you go there are children present and they are learning from you.

When a child tells a lie, think about the last lie you told. When a child throws a rock, think about the last time you "threw a rock". (judged someone)

Have you opened your Bible in front of a child today? Have you praised God in front of a child today?

I am writing this to myself most of all. As a person who still has a cigarette from time to time, I wonder what damage I may be doing to a child; what they are seeing?

Father God,

Help me be a better teacher and a better man in front of tiny eyes.

Help me to show them that You love us and we are to pass that love on.

God, You have shown us that are eyes are still tiny too, so we need to be wise in what enters them.

Help us God, please help us.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

Children will reflect what we show them.

I ask that you pass this on to parents, grandparents, teachers; all adults!

Lets realize that children are the future. Are we teaching them what it takes to love and survive or are we just being greedy and worrying about ourselves?

Children are a gift from God and we need to be responsible to our Maker and treat them as the gift they are.

God, save the children and please close their eyes to anything not suitable to You!

When I was sub-teaching I tried to keep these ideas in mind.

I probably failed many tines, but I did have the intention of leaving a memory that some would remember the best, instead of the worst.

We all come up short at times, but I also think those eyes see the intentions , too.

You have a very kind and caring soul, and I know it is because of some of your past experiences. Thanks for a beautiful hub.

This hub was inspired by you my dear. The talents you have as a teacher and a Christian makes me happy that tiny eyes watch you!

Those tiny eyes how much they say without a word! Hope that conscious will grow in our hearts from this hub. Each step we give, each word....those tiny eyes will hide what they see into their inner life and one day in a blink they will be showing with actions what they saw, heard and got.
