Things to Tell Your Daughter on Her Birthday
All too often we struggle to say and do the right things for our children. When it is time for their birthday or any other milestone, we hustle and bustle to come up with the right gifts, the best cards and the tastiest treats. Many of us also struggle to come up with the correct words. Whether they are words of wisdom, declarations of love, inspirational messages or words of encouragement, we strive to make them meaningful and to have them heard. in this article, I will talk about ways to celebrate your daughter.
How to Surprise your Daughter with a Gift from the Heart.
Baby girls are special and my little girl was no exception! I never miss the opportunity to reminisce! In order to keep those memories fresh, I suggest you do something that illustrates it. Here are some examples of things you can do to show your daughter how much she means to you:
- Make a Memory Jar.
- Write a poem or story using words that she used as a child. (ie: when my daughter was a little girl, she would say her heart was beeping instead of beating.)
- Burn her a cd with favorite songs that you used to sing with/for her.
- Find an old piece of artwork that she did and turn it professional by matting it and putting it in a frame.
- Learn how to sign a meaningful song for her.
- Write her an Initial Poem.
People love to be reminded about how precious they were when they were little, these can all be a success!
To Be a Parent is an Overwhelming Responsibility
When our children have a birthday, it our birthday too. Literally! It is our moment of of glory. Look what we have made...an amazing human being! Likewise, any of their accomplishments become ours. Every good grade, every goal made, every ribbon received and every decision (good or bad) is our good grade, goal made and ribbon received! We triumph in our children's triumph. we wallow in their misery and feel their pain. As they grow older, we learn to adjust to their changing needs and moods. each new phase brings us to a different level. Every birthday, every event, we find another reason to support and celebrate them. Sometimes it is a fun and easy task but sometimes it is one of the hardest things we will ever have to do.

I always tell her she is beautiful.
I always tell her she is cherished.
I talk about her accomplishments!
I encourage her goals.
I tell her how much she has enriched my life.
I remind her that I will always be here for her.
Our Children, our Blessings!
When we are blessed with children, practically every joy we have known as well as some of our heartaches have happened since these amazing people entered our lives. Joys and heartaches that most of us wouldn't trade away for the world.
It never ceases to amaze me when children don't see how truly special they are. It saddens me when they feel that they are anything less than wonderful individuals. This is when we need to step up to the plate and encourage, motivate, inspire and admire. This is an opportunity. This is the time to make sure that they know:
They are perfect!
This song pretty much says it all...
