For mothers

iPhone applications will always be around and will keep on growing in size and mothers that own either an iPhone, iPod, or an iPad will find these applications very helpful. Helpful not only for themselves but also for their family.

I have these on my iPhone and find them very useful in many different areas. They will keep you organized and are very convenient from your day to day routine.

Applications for mothers:

1. Additives:

This is a great app for keeping track of what's in your food and ingredients. It is a quick guide to help you find additives that are in your food. For example, if a food has Sorbic Acid you could conveniently look that up and find out more about what that additive is and if it's harmful for you. Sorbic Acid is found in Mountain Ash fruit and is a preservative. That is just one of the any explanations that you will find in this application. This one is a really great resource to your every day shopping.

2. FMH: Family Medical History

This application is so great. It really keeps track of your family's medical needs. It keeps track of medications, diseases, exams, surgeries, blood pressures, wt, important phone numbers. You can put in all your family members into the applications and it also has a password you can setup for previous issues. This is great not only to keep track of everything but also is great for your medical doctor. I am positive that he/she would love you for it.

3. Kid Norm:

This application gives you a nice, organized data that you could have in your phone or iPod. This app is for your children up to 20 years old. it gives you developmental milestones that you can see if they have reached. It gives you teeth development and all the info covering that topic. Gives you vital signs and equipment sizes, lab values, and vaccinations by age and table. I would definitely recommend this app for mothers and their children.

4. The Weather Channel:

This is a great weather application so you can plan your day and your child's without any interruptions. It gives you tons of information about the weather. Gives you today's weather, an hourly weather outlook, a 36 hour outlook, and a 10 day outlook on the weather to come. It also includes the windchill, UV index, dew point, visibility, sunrise, sunset, maps, videos, severe weather warnings, etc.. Overall I look at this daily and keep track of the weather.

5. Martha's Everyday Food:

Love it, love it, love it. I really enjoy this app because of it's great food choices that Martha has come up with and the simplicity of it as well. You can search for food and ingredients, you can choose between a main ingredient, meal, method, or seasonal section. You also can save your choices for later retrieval.

6. Food Scanner:

This is so wonderful to have when you are shopping around and you forgot a specific type of food that you usually buy. You just scan that bar code on your favorite foods and it saves it to your phone. It also give you how many calories you consumed during that day.

7. Vitamins:

This application goes through all of the vitamins and gives you specific information on each one of them. It also gives you what foods contain each of these vitamins. It not only gives you the function but the sources for these nutrients. I think everyone should have this application.

8. Pregnancy:

I can't say more about this application. It really saves women from conceiving if they do not want to have a baby at a specific point in time. It first asks you to type in the minimum cycle length and your maxim cycle length. It also wants you to type in the first day of your last menstrual cycle and then you can get started. When you click on the app it will show you your pregnancy probability for that day in percentages. So for me I have a 10% chance of getting pregnant today.

These are just some of the many hundreds of applications that a mother can get to make their life and their families a little bit easier.

Stay tuned for more applications!

A lot of these are useful regardless if you're a mom or not. Great list.
