The Top 10 Best Selling Baby Diapers for 2016

Updated on March 10, 2016

New Dad - Expert Advice on Diapers

Jake here! As many of you know, I'm a dad of a diaper user, which caused me to dive deep into the subjects of diapers, wipes, ointments, general techniques, powders, creams, ugh you know what I mean. Over the past 28 months and counting, I have become an expert, a connoisseur, a well versed human on baby poop.

My wife and I have tried many diaper brands. Some cheap, some expensive, some good and some flat out BAD. We have compiled our list of what we liked and what is available for you to buy on Amazon. Most ship for free and of course, there is a great return policy. This is the way we've been doing it and couldn't recommend it more.

As you know, or are about to know, there are many varieties of diapers. From cloth, to chlorine free and everything in between. Our personal choice with our baby is the Pamper's Swaddler for a baby under 20 pounds. It's soft as cloth, never leaks, and has been a staple in our home. Currently, we've made the move to Huggies Lil' Movers. What is your favorite?

So read and enjoy - find your diapers today! If you are interested in any diaper below, simply follow the link at the bottom of the description!

For those of you who have purchased from me before, a sincere thank you! If you find my lens helpful and informative, please rate it! If I don't list exactly what you're looking for on this lens, CLICK HERE and you can easily search on your own!

Pampers Cruisers

Pampers Cruisers have Go Baby Grips for Non-Stop Fit to help the diaper stay in one place because your baby never does. With 60% stronger grips than before for improved fastening, Cruisers diapers give you the freedom to move, whether you're sitting, crawling or walking.

How many diapers will I change a day?

In the first couple of months, you may find yourself changing diapers up to 10 times in 24 hours. Diapers should be changed whenever they are wet or soiled. Your baby will often (but not always) let you know. With a super-absorbent diaper like Pampers diapers, you can tell if it's wet by feeling for lumps in the absorbent material. Here are some common times for changing diapers:

Right before or right after every feeding

After every bowel movement

Before bedtime

When your baby wakes up

When you go out with your baby

Huggies Little Movers

My New Favorite!

Our daughter has been a Pamper's Baby forever, until we ran out one day and picked up a small package of these Little Movers. She loved them and even told us so. That night she had a lot of milk and needless to say, her morning diaper weighed a ton, but her sheets and pj's were bone dry. A++

* Snug & Dry with unbeatable leakage protection!

* LeakLock® quickly captures moisture and locks it away to help prevent leaks.

* All-around stretch for a super-snug fit

* Mickey & Friends Designs

Is there anything special I need to know about changing a diaper?

Diapers are designed to adjust to your baby's shape for a snug, comfortable fit. While changing diapers there's no need to fold the waistband in or out or to adjust the leg cuffs.

Place tabs parallel to the waistband and centered on the character strip.

Use the characters as guides to ensure the fasteners are evenly spaced.

Keep baby products such as powder away from the fasteners so they maintain their stickiness.

Pampers Swaddlers

Our Favorite!

Get blanket-like softness with our softest Swaddlers ever! The diaper features include soft leg cuffs and a soft, quilted backsheet that wrap your baby in ultra comfort. Swaddlers New Baby diapers are not just comfortable, they're comforting.

What size diaper is right for my baby?

Just like you, babies like to wear things that fit just right. Choose a size that does not sag or gap, even as your baby crawls and plays. This will help prevent leaks. Each product description on this site gives guidelines that represent the average weight for a particular size. And remember, when you move up a size, you gain absorbency.

Pampers Baby Dry

Pampers Baby-Dry contains these mild ingredients which are gentle to the skin, like Aloe Extract. If you notice a gel-like material on your baby's skin, don't be alarmed. This comes from the diaper padding and can easily removed by wiping your baby's skin with a cloth

I am a stay at home Mom with 4 children. I have been buying diapers for the past almost 11 years and Pampers Baby Dry is hands down the best diaper on the market, and believe me I have tried them all! All of my kids have been "super soakers" when it comes to pee. These diapers way out perform any other brand including major brands and department store brands. The major selling points for me are:

1. They are thin, easy to pack 5 in a diaper bag.

2. Easy to unfold with one hand (if you, like me frequently have to use the other hand to keep baby still)

3. tabs are easily opened without extra unfolding and don't rip off like several other brands.

4. Doesn't leave residue on baby or smell like pee when really soaked.

5. wider in the front to prevent baby from peeing out the side (and my kids are experts at this)

One thing that may be helpful is to remember that Pampers fit better on children that are long and skinny. If your baby is short and really chubby in the bottom, then Huggies will fit your baby better. This, I believe, explains the few complaints about Pampers not fitting or leaking.

Hope this review was helpful!

How do diapers absorb all that moisture?

AGM is the absorbent gelling material widely used in diaper padding to absorb wetness. It is perfectly normal to see some gel on the skin from time to time, especially if the diaper is heavily saturated. It can easily be removed by wiping your baby's skin.

This material has a long history of safe use in a variety of products and has been in diapers for more than a decade. Absorbent gelling material is closely related to ingredients widely used in cosmetics and in food processing.

Pampers did well for my newborn, Huggies did not. He's now 6 months and tried 4 brands, currently liking Target! Each baby is different though, check out Miny Moe Diaper Samplers - you get 5 diapers from each of 6 brands to try them all at once and figure out which is best for your lil' one!
