Safest Baby & Infant Travel System Stroller & Car Seat 2015

Updated on May 5, 2015

A travel system for your baby includes a stroller and car seat that can be used together. If you have never used one of these before you will absolutely enjoy the convenience it brings.

Being able to take your sleeping baby out of the car without a disturbing her and putting her into the stroller, will let her rest peacefully. Once your baby has outgrown the infant car seat, she can then sit in the stroller without it.

There are some small differences from brand to brand, so compare what we have for you here to ensure you get the best equipment to fit your needs.

Good Features in Baby Strollers

Reclining Seat

Some basic features to consider are strollers that include a flat to reclining seat. Not only does this allow your baby to lie down more comfortably, it can be easier to change diapers as well.

1. Graco UrbanLite Classic Travel System

You might like this Graco UrbanLite Classic Travel System that features a fully reclining seat. It also accommodates a child up to 50 pounds. I absolutely love that this particular stroller comes with a 180° rotating canopy with a see through a window for you to check on your child.

The offers a bit more than other with not only a standing fold design, but it has a latch to keep it in place as well. This is very nice since it won't flop open when you are trying to get it into, or out of, your car.

Folding Design

Since most parents have their hands full, literally, getting a stroller with a one handed fold design is a feature that is well worth it.

2. Graco Fast Action Jogger Travel System

Joggers will like this Graco Fast Action Jogger Travel System with the one second, one handed fold. It's a bit heavy at 52 pounds but once the car seat is no longer used, it will be a bit lighter.

Storage Space

Since babies also come with lots of gear, find a stroller that gives you adequate storage. This primarily comes in the form of a storage basket underneath the stroller seat, as well as perhaps pockets hanging on the sides or back of the stroller, cup holders, snack trays, and a parent storage tray as well.

I highly recommend you double check how easy it is to access the storage basket while the seat is fully reclined. Some strollers come with the feature to drop the side of the basket down so you don't need two disturb your child in the seat by reaching for your items underneath it.

Adjustable Handles

Not all strollers come with adequate height for handles. I highly recommend finding a stroller that has height adjustable handles so it is more comfortable for you, and others, to push your baby in the stroller.

More Practical Features for your Toddlers Stroller

I like to have a child tray to not only entertain my child but to help keep him in the stroller more easily.

Look for one that pivots out of the way to make it easier to get your child into and out of it. The only one here that does not feature a tray is the Britax B-Agile.

Having cup holders also makes your outings that much easier. Find one that offers these to both you and your child.

3. Evenflo Journey 300 Stroller with Embrace 35 Car Seat

I like the Evenflo Journey 300 Stroller with Embrace 35 Car Seat for the convenient pivoting child tray as well as the many storage options available. It has one of the biggest baskets that is easy to access.

Weight

Many parents get caught up in the features that a travel system offers. However, you need to keep in mind how much it weighs since you will be getting it into and out your trunk. As far as size goes, Graco tends to be the biggest with Evenflow a bit smaller and Britax the smallest. Make sure to measure your trunk and note the measurements on each travel system you are considering.

4. Britax B-Agile and B-Safe Travel System

If you want something super lightweight, consider this Britax B-Agile and B-Safe Travel System that only weighs 35 pounds for both pieces of equipment. It is not a jogging stroller, so don’t let the three wheeled design fool you; it simply makes it easier to maneuver. This is great for those that live in large cities and need to get around easily.

Car Seats

Best Protection in an Auto Collision

When it comes to the car seats for the systems listed in this post, I personally prefer the Britax B-Safe and the Graco Alano Classic Connect because they come with deeper shells which ensure your baby is protected more during a side auto collision.

Make sure to check your weight limits for both car seat and strollers. The Evenflo and the Graco Fast Action have the highest car seat weight limit at 35 pounds with the Graco Alano having the least at only 22 pounds.

The others are 30 pounds. I find it important to get as high a weight limit as possible so you can use it for longer, but also for those that might have bigger babies overall.

5. Graco Alano Classic Connect Travel System

For a good deal, check out the Graco Alano Classic Connect Travel System. This has a handy basket that allows you access to it when the seat is fully reclined. This feature is nice, but the clicking noise it makes is a bit loud and could disturb your child.
