Beards are awesome at any age.

Interesting Baby Boy Clothes

I did some online window shopping and found some amazingly appealing options for creative baby outfits. Besides the staples, I like my newborn clothes to have some character, some quirk. Most generic kids products have trademarked cartoon characters slathered all over them or some random cheapy design. These unique pieces are fantastic for baby shower gifts! Remember that the parents-to-be will be stocked up on the basics- so if you want to stand out, purchase a gift that is sure to be a conversation starter!

Remember:

  • No infant wardrobe would be complete without plain undershirts and onesies. Of course, don't forget the basic pieces, but these specialty onesies are fun splurges.
  • If shopping for a gift, keep in mind the parents-to-be! What were their favorite bands in high school? What are their favorite genres? Is the mother-to-be an avid fan of True Blood? Is the father-to-be a Trekkie? Just keep in mind their uniqueness!
  • Be creative and don't be too serious! These are fancy baby spit up rags we're talking about!

Comical

Clothing with the faces or quotes of comedians printed on the front serves one purpose- its says to the general public, "Hey- this person on my shirt makes me laugh." Having a sense of humor is crucial when parenting. So, your favorite comedic actor and actresses on your favorite baby's outfit insures a few smiles.

Paranormal

Zombies, vampires, and werewolves are running loose around pop culture these days. Remember fans of these movies and television shows are new parents, too! So, if you know a horror film nut or vampire enthusiast kind their interests in mind. It will surely be the most unique baby shower gift.

Preppy

For the professional baby...This is a versatile fashion statement with two pop culture references that immediately come to mind. Take the only thing worth taking from Don Draper- his clothes. Imagine this onesie with a classy suit jacket, baby fedora, and mini suitcase for Mad Men baby. Also, another suit wearing television love of mine, this time from How I Met Your Mother. That's right, "suit up" like Barney Stinston.

Rock n' Rollers

Band t-shirts are a staple in any rock music lover's closet (or floor...) Why shouldn't you or your friends baby be left out in the boring cold? These make excellent baby shower gifts for close friends that you know have favorite bands/musicians. You know they will love it, but they might not buy it for themselves.

Nerdy

Bazinga! Baby clothes should be ANYTHING but stuffy and serious. Humor, irony, and just plain silliness are always good ideas when it comes to specialty onesies. The key is to not be inappropriate or crass and always keep in mind the personality of the parental units. May the force be with you.

Classic

Literary icons and Golden Age film stars add a historical note and are very unexpected on baby clothes. Buy these for the actress mother-to-be or bookworm in your life!

Fabulous finds. I would pair any of the tshirts with a cool newsboy hat http://www.borntoloveclothing.com/ivy-newsboy/blac... or maybe a fedora cap from My retro baby listed above http://www.myretrobaby.com/item/fedora-hat-gray-wi... a pair of cool socks from www.psychobabyonline.com also listed above.

I was lucky to find stuff that looked like a boy ought to be wearing it for mine. I guess before that all little boys dressed like the girls. Thanks for all the great sugestions.
