WORK IS WHAT IT IS?

Updated on January 7, 2010

THE ONLY WORK I KNOW

Somehow I thought work would be different

When your young and creative and you look ahead into your future

You see wonderful choices and the whole world is at your finger tips

You are made to believe anything you put your mind to can and  will happen

You are not afraid

You are given all the opportunities and it is up to you to make a life for yourself

As you grow older you make choices good and bad

You become of age to really work and get paid like all adults do

No more school and you have the freedom to pick any job you desire

So you try your first job and get paid real money and say that wasn't so hard

You try to understand what all the fuss is about and why so many other co workers complain so much.

In time you Soon also see the job isn't as great as it seems

You too also become disallusioned and want something else

So you may move on to your next job

Bettering yourself as you go

That is what it is all about right

Finding the job that you love so much and pays you well

As time ticks on and you earn more money

You might leave this job or stay if your still happy

You see other coworkers come and go

You try to stay out of harms way and do a good job and not get fired

Your life also expands and you don't seem to notice all the things you do

Work becomes who you are and who you are capable of becoming

You are still happy and things at work change slowly

So this is all part of life and you have also changed and gained more experience

You roll with the punches and make the best of the worst times

You have a good job and earn a respectable living with good pay

You watch how other friends and family make a living

Deep down your happy with your choice of the job you do

You may never make all the money you imagined

But in some strange way you feel you are where you are for a reason

I think it is where I was meant to be
