We Don't Have A Child To Spare

Updated on October 7, 2011

We Don't Have A Child To Spare

As we look around the world today ,

Wickedness runs rampant everywhere.

Satan's out looking for our children,

But we don't have a child to spare.

God gave us our children to care for.

Such innocent little babes at the start.

Each little one then seemed so perfect

As little fingers wrapped around our heart.

The devil came and stepped in uninvited,

And tried to grab them from our hand.

All the world is growing so wicked now,

And some parents I just don't understand.

They see no wrong in modern lifestyle,

And see no wrong in worldly pleasure.

God looking down must be sorrowful

For He'd given them a Heavenly Treasure .

I guess they think we're old fashioned,

The. Jesus Way is a thing of the past

Children raised with no sense of direction,

Never true values that are meant to last.

If they would just stop and think about it

The devil wants them all in his evil care.

Counting heads,if there were a hundred

We would not have one child to spare!

Maybe it goes back to how the parents were

taught.I think most people believed there was

a God but they neglected to go to church and

hear God's Word.and be with His People There

is a closeness with God's People that would be

very hard to find anywhere else. I know so

many parents taught their children,  "Now I  Lay

Me Down To Sleep," but that was probably as

far as it went in some homes. Years  ago  life

was a lot harder  in some ways  , they didn't

have so many  labor saving devices to make

life easier but they didn't have to hold down

2 jobs to supply their needs  like they have

to nowadays.Mothers then stayed home with

their children,  they didn't have to go out to

work  to  help pay the bills.Anymore life is

much more stressful than it used to be We

all need to commit our lives to The Lord

and get our children under His Care.It is

not too late to repent. God is still waiting

for His children to come to Him ! This

life we are living now is called Progress?

Oh so very correct, we've lost our way, and sometimes better to live the old fashioned way! :)

This is a haunting poem and a good reminder to keep vigilent as we raise our children.

Fantastic hub once again, Clara! This depicts a majority of the modern children today. Thankfully, my parents have taught me/ teaching me the importance of God in life. :D God bless!
