What made Life so different for me

Easter Celebrations in Croatia

The changes caused me to feel mixed emotions in Croatia. I had to relearn a lifestyle I had no idea of.

Sometimes I feel like nothing will ever be or improve.

I knew I had to get my act together. and get on with my life. The frustration moments causes a build-up of stressful signs.

I am sometimes faced with a heap of thoughts, and at times wish I could go on without a fuss.

That is not possible!

I get up on the ladder step by step and try to move up slowly. Unfortunately, I get back down faster than I had got up.

When I try to climb back up again, there is some other obstacle to come my way again.

I have all these obstacles that won't go away without returning again and again.

I don’t make any scenes. My life has changed and I just got to live with it and accept and start over. I have started over and it feels so different.

The best part of my life is to go home see the other life the one I had left behind to find my roots all over again.

People think they know about me, but they don't it would take them forever to know me and forever to learn about me.

There is always something new about me.

Nobody will know for sure about another until they have walked in those shoes.

When everything gets tough it goes down a good path. When everything gets rough it goes down the rough path.

If it all gets easy and comfortable you don't talk about any path.

Living in that comfortable zone won't want you to think about any path.

How do I approach such changes?

I smile and greet my neighbors and deep down I know they will never see my way of life only their way matters the most.

As a foreigner, I know that nobody around me here would understand my past life.

To sit to have conversations with the local people is not a possibility for me. It is not because of the language, instead of the different mentality that makes us feel that way.

You can only know what you know best.

For example:
I was raised in a different culture and I know the meaning of true values.

Another part of my life that I am trying to understand more and more at this time.

The Easter Celebrations or of other Catholic holidays I am not on track for such days.

I enjoy each day with a happy moment.

I learn every day from my little experiences with people.

I laugh truly and don't think bad of others. I am an open-minded individual.

I don't care what goes on in the next door neighbor's house, and don't go around gossiping about others.

The Easter celebrations is an exciting event. I got interested in painting boiled eggs and really want the occasion to be exciting. The colorful eggs are very attractive and are such a lovely time of the year.

It is much warmer and everyone bakes cakes and Easter goodies. This festival is one of the most celebrated worldwide.

The eggs are eaten or kept as decoration for a short period.

The baking carries on for a week, and are offered to the many visitors. Home-made liquors are offered on this occasion.

I look forward to more painting of the eggs and I would like to show off my art of work too.

Easter celebrations are one of greater times of the year to all Catholic people.

The Palm Sunday is when most of the local people attend the local church. The hand-made palm is blessed for a year. A year later the Palm is discarded. The process carries on annually.

The surprise visits from our neighbors make this occasion most joyful.

On Easter Sunday the Croatian men get together with their sons and throw a coin into the egg.

The target from a distance is approached directly into the egg, and this is attempted with a clean hit into the egg.

Once a target is achieved they consider the event to be a lucky one.

It is fun and interesting!

A time that shows me more of what I should know about a new culture.

Life has taken me by surprise and still am going through my time the time only I can talk about and feel free to express in all ways.

When I feel happy it shows on my face.

I appreciate my unique culture and also like to learn from another culture.

I feel disconnected to from my past life. Far from my family and that is my reason for feeling that way.

I am free to walk and be at peace in my place.

My beautiful countryside has lots more to explore.

I feel positive about how I pass my days.

When I have something to look forward to that gives me the greatest pleasure in planning ahead.

I go further with new experiences and with new thoughts.

What are now I clearly know of and what will be remains to be seen?
I like what my new life has brought to me.

It made me see that life has many obstacles and avoiding these obstacles is not living the true hassles of life.

I got to face up to what comes toward me and have to fight against what pushes me down and get up with great force to keep up with my challenges.

Life is what you make of it! It is often easy to speak of than to actually do, and when you know what you want from life, you can make everything feel happier and fulfilled around you.

Be confident and show your all sides to people they can accept you or ignore you.

Why should you care what others want and of what others want you to be?
You can be what you want and achieve what you want from life.

Nobody said life would be a fairy tale and that everyone would live happily ever after. Not all experiences are luxurious and comfortable experiences.

Everything comes to you when its due. You get what you have always wanted if you work your hardest toward that goal.

When you are hopeful, you will see miracles.

Are you living in a dream to keep yourself alive with daily plans?
Plan and plan hope and hope, if that is what you do and then don't give up.

I did not give up.

Let live and let be.

There would be a time when you would sit down and talk about those hard days, and laugh about your great achievements.

Never be afraid to love and to dream of what you want from your life. If you don't dream you won't experience reality.

I accept my new life in a foreign country. I speak the language and have opened up to many good people.

In every culture, there are unique celebrations. I learned of a new culture and practiced a few times of the different events. I enjoyed my new experiences and now live with acceptance and freedom.

Everything felt difficult in the beginning and in time everything came to me as I felt happy and normal again. I felt at ease when I didn't feel the need to change for anyone.

Great Easter Celebrations

Great hub and good insights. Coming from a different culture, I can relate to meeting and talking to many people, but them not really connecting with me and the adjustment of the new culture as well. Thanks for sharing your journey and heart. You have a positive attitude in spite of everything, learn many lessons in your journey and formed some beliefs about life and happiness which can help others. Voted Up.

It must be difficult leaving family and friends behind and moving to a foreign country with totally different language and beliefs Devika. I can only imagine how hard it would be to settle in and feel at home. You should be proud that you are coping as well as you are. All the best.

Very nice hub. Having grown up travelling, I know the troubles that can come with living in a new culture, but it is enriching, too. Also, the part about Catholic rituals was lovely, it brought me back to the days when I used to be Catholic. As a child I loved those palms.

My best wishes to you, Devika. It must be very difficult to deal with a new culture and to leave the old one behind. I hope things get easier for you as time passes.

In spite of the fact that you mourn the what could have been, you are still positive and determined to make the best of your life. This is a good sign.

I wish you the best as you find a way to return somehow in body or in spirit. Being away from family for such a long time has to be very trying. I wish you strength.
