What makes your day?

Updated on February 6, 2012

Most of us have days that we wish didn't happen or wish that we could turn back time. People tell us comments that will either make us sad or happy, sometimes even confused. Have you had those days when you were down and all of a sudden someone does something really nice and your day just turns around? I have seen that so many times, people will make my day at work when I am down and just to see them smile at me, can put a smile on my face.

Some gestures that can make ones day is just a comment from someone saying "I really appreciate what you did, you were really helpful", or "I will remember how you helped me". These kind of comments can make someones day because you know that you have helped them. You never know if you have made a difference in their day or even life. For example, I helped this one gentleman at work put a resume into this application online. That day he told me he really appreciated my help. The next week he came back and gave me the news that he got the position that he was applying for in this company. He told me that he really appreciated what I did that one day. That just helped make my day.

There is this one thing that I really think can make their day. That is just out of the no where, they give you flowers, a card, stuffed animal or just something small showing you that they are just thinking of you. This really can help when you are down and just need a pick me up. This is just one of the sweetest gestures I find that can make almost anyones day.

Have you ever gone to work in the morning, grumpy, not in the mood to work? Then all of a sudden someone comes up to you and just in a cheery way tells you, "Good Morning" and they smile at you. They say smiling can be contagious and it is in a way. As they say this you realize, "Hey, I need to be happy today, I don't need to grumpy or sad."

These three things can really make peoples' days and make them smile. They can even make a person think of how to make the days of others. What makes your day? Is it something small, or something big?

I agree with your points in the hub - I remember those little messages from others that say I mattered to them in some way. Your hub is a nice reminder of the impact we can have on people just by showing appreciation. Voted up and beautiful

Whenever I am having a bad day or I am grumpy or feel things aren't working out properly I go back to something I was taught long ago...I help others who are worse off than I think I am. Nothing gets me outside of myself like helping others. Interesting hub and good job!
