When Kids Grow Up
Young Adult
As I sit here day in and day out and watch the minutes, hours, days, months and years pass with my kids. I see the slow changes in their sizes, their personalities and the way they act around each other. Their demeanor's and ways of doing things have become so different with each passing year.
When you are a 14 almost 15 yr old.... every little thing feels as if it could end the world. Emotions run really high. Your hormones are over the place.... and if you haven't already you are starting to discover the differences between males and females and starting to have crushes on the opposite sex. You are learning a lot of new things and starting to experience even more. High school plays a big part in your life at this age. New rules, new trails, and hopefully a lot of fun over the next four years before you go and decide the rest of your life.
At this age you have the whole world at your feet and more options for what you can do with it than you would ever imagine. At this stage of your life it is mostly about discovering yourself and discovering your likes and dislike when it comes to certain things.
This is your last few years of being a young adult before the real life begins. After this four years is up you will have to decide what you want the rest of your life to be like. For some that means college in or out of state. For others that means a job and straight into the real world.
Teenage
When you are 13 you are at the very beginning of being a teenager and learning that not everything is going to go your way. You are testing your limits and learning what you shouldn't do. Plus you have been given a lot more responsibility around the house as a way of helping out.
More is expected of you than before. Plus you can not get away with as much as you used to be able to.
