Yippee.. School Holidays are Here again.
Great ways To keep your Child going on Shool Holidays..
Tips to enhance your Child Vacation and Grow Bonding.
Are You worried how to keep your child away from school re-opening blues or to add fun in vacation. I'm sure this will help you in some or the other manner. Try this to keep your active child mind going:)
From next week my little one school holidays are going to start, was wondering how to keep him occupy as kids don’t want to sit idle. When I was jotting down for my child I thought let’s share with you guys. I’m sure many parents will agree, long holiday doesn’t mean your child’s brain should think of only relaxation or jumping around at home. It might turn out to be a well deserving break for, them some may think wow! Now this vacation I’ll going to watch my favourite cartoons, some may think, Great I’ll be hooked in my play station or gaming zone. But as a parent don’t you think it’s important to keep their mind active but in healthy manner. In fact, I think holidays are a great way to spend time on creative, educational activities and spending more quality time with parents. I would like to share some interesting stuffs which you can do with your kids.
Every child develops a hobby as they enter in their pre-school. And a child hobby keeps on changing as he grows up. Some hobbies they take it as passion and stick to it. Introduce them to some new hobbies which are exciting and keep their mind focused. Do not force them but observe in which skill they are good and slowly you also participate with them. Perhaps you can teach them paintings, making some interesting’s stuffs with play dough or any re-cycle stuff or if you know any instrument you can teach your kid also any musical instrument like guitar, drums etc. My son has a shorter attention span, mostly on weekends or school holidays I choose activities that require less time to complete, such as any paintings or some creative cooking. Remember, hobbies will not only help them to keep busy but at the same time will create a great bond for two of you.
Not only my son but I think all kids love going out. Certainly catching up for a movie or shopping will add fun in holidays but surely you can enhance more if an outing becomes more educational and fun filled outing. Places such as Libraries, Science centres, Botanical gardens, Museums, Zoo, are perfect for fun yet educational day out. Some kids love to be with their friends especially when it’s outing well, in that case you can invite your child friends also, they will love the company and certainly feel happy and your bonding will also become strong.
Playing in play stations, computer, I pad and all , today’s generation kids know very well. Let’s take them back good old days of board games. Like Scrabble, Monopoly, Chinese checkers, Chess, etc. it will not only help to promote family bonding but also teaches kids how to be a good loser or a gentle winner. If your child doesn’t shows any interest and finding it bore spice it up by offering some real goodies as prizes.
Summer Camps :
Camping is good. Encourage your child to participate in summer camps. They offer great brain storming activities. Also, camps will help to develop confidence, independence, courage, team building skills, discipline and how to move in social. It will help to keep your child fit and active. If your child is quite young to go on summer camps opt for a day camps . In many cities, places they conduct a day camp with lots of great fun exercises and activities or you can send them in activity centres for half day. At the end of the day you are with your little one but still you get benefits from the activities of camp.
Now days there are lots of enrichment classes have come. A weekly enrichment class will help with the on-going development of their mind. It will have a good balance in their holiday planner and yet they are not out of touch with education. It is also ideal way to prevent those post-holiday blues. Especially if a child studies in kindergarten or primary. If you are going out on a vacation, holiday workshops are an ideal alternative. They are fun and educational and will not disturb your family vacation too.
Learning Environment at Home:
Children love stories. Books and reading are a great way to increase vocabulary while the child picks the expressive language. When I tell story to my 3 and half year old son I add characters with expressions in my story delivery. This attracts him to listen especially if the story is of Thomas and his Friends. During holidays do not restrict your story time only for bed time stories possible keep stories on as their school timings.
