Add Culinary Skills With Can It_Bottle it_Smoke It_ by K Solomon__ Celebrate Good Eating with Family

Updated on February 4, 2013

Culinary Ideas for Kitchen Projects

Karen Solomon's new book, "Can it, Bottle it, Smoke it and Other Kitchen Projects" (Ten Speed Press, 2011) is functional, creative, and beautifully done with mouthwatering pictures. The book just became available at my Fairfax County Public Library where I pick it up while glancing through the new book section.

The book is a great place to start your next kitchen project getting ready for the holiday season coming up to be ready for the celebration with some mouthwatering tasty stuff for your family and friend clans perhaps in time for Christmas.

The book actually has far more than can, bottle, and smoke, There are 14 chapters that include jam, pickle, bake, munch, hunt, slurp and freeze among others.

For those who are not familiar with the preservation techniques for long duration as much as a year, such as sterilizing, vaccum sealing, etc., it would be worthwhile to invest in a cooking or home economics course at the local community college, agriculture extension station, another local source to gain some actual experience of doing before creating these and other such good eats from your backyard kitchen garden, grocery store or farmer's market items.
