I have this friend whose children hardly call nor remember his birthday. Out of curiosity, I asked why that is so and he said 'well, I've never really been in any child's life'. Do you find yourself in this situation?

Loving and being there for them no matter what. That way, if they are in trouble they would choose to come to me for help and not someone else with who-knows-what-intentions.

To be positive with a dark sense of humor. That way I'm ironic and interesting. They will never get tired of having me around and I will be like my grandmother. Always seeing the good in people.
I want them to remember me as loving and kind, and a good mom.
I would like my children to remember me as a :
good sense of humour
friendly but firm
Lets see. I would like for them to remember me being there for them.
My daughter (27) is too selfish and self-centered so I know she won't.
My oldest son (almost 21) is now a good friend that I still have to guide some.
My youngest son (almost 3) will remember me as the guy that DIDN'T leave and chose to be his dad.
The rest is just gravy.
