    Which parent would you save?

If both of your parents (mother and father) were dying from a tragic car accident and both needed your lung to survive, which parent would you give your lung to?

Good question, my mother.  My dad said for over a decade he knew he was going to die by the time he was 56.  He is 61 so he is living on borrowed time anyways.

But to be honest, no clue would matter if one was about ready to die or not.  Would probably leave the answer up to the surgeon though.

Probably my mom.  I love both my parents dearly, but my mother worked the hardest to bring me into the world, and she's the one person that has been there for me my entire life.

Neither of my parents are here any more, but I'm not able to answer this particular question.  I just don't know.  As a parent, I wouldn't be willing to accept one of my children's lungs (or anything else); so I'm assuming (fairly certain, in fact) my parents would have felt the same way.

Both of my parents would have said, "I've had my life, and this is fine. I'm OK with it.  Let me go, and you go on and have your own life - and don't even think about this."

No question, my dad.  The only man in most girls lives who have no agenda for them.  Even a husband wants something although usually for mutual gain.  But a dad wants nothing but for their daughters to be happy.

my mother without hesitation because my father would want it that way.

plus, my dad experienced joy when I was created and my mom went through hell to get me out.

It seems only fair that she gets the lung.

    Wouldn't you say?

Very thought-provoking question!  I would hope the surgeon or my parents would decide because I wouldn't be able to!  I like my mom the most but would miss most of them.  I would feel guilty forever if I had to choose.

I have two lungs. If I could have I would have saved one parent, and given my life for the other. None of that was possible. So I am here with my lungs... and here they are not.

My parents had passed away more than 10 years ago so I do not really know what I will do should this situation comes. Just a thought about this situation, my parents will rather have me continue living than giving up my life for one of them. That is what I will do as a parent to my kids. I feel that my kids have their lives so it will be a great loss for either of them to do so.
