Yes I do.  I think there is a significant lack of morals and values nowadays.  It is really quite sad.

Maybe adults don't have respect for teens like they use to.  I have a granddaughter who emailed me just a little while ago that told me she would never be a teenager meaning....that she would be respectful of her parents, her sisters, and other people. That she would try to become the wife and mother that would be a blessing to the world.  My grandson is respectful and kind to me and to his parents and siblings. He thinks of them before himself and cares about other people.  My other granddaughter will get up early to set the table and fix breakfast for her family because she loves them so much.  I think there are a lot of teens out there that want to be loved and respected and when that happens they will act like my grandchildren and be respectful and kind back. Children learn by example.....we need to always remember that and when they are not acting like we want them to.....perhaps we should look in the mirror to see why.

Its depends  upon parents training. If they taught these things in thier childhood then definitely they will do, on the other hand if they not teach these things then might they do not have respect for elders.I believe parents are the first institute.

I agree with khmohsin. It's dependent on parenting, and I'd add the media that makes parents and adults seem like fools.

As a middle school teacher, I witnessed every day the lack of respect from teenagers. Not all of them, of course, but many of them didn't understand how to respond or act towards an adult. I saw many students react disrespectfully to their own parents in parent/teacher conferences with five teachers and two parents present, and there was no consequence for such behavior. I knew then why these students acted the way they did in class.

If I were a teen who was disrespectful towards any adult, I would have been reprimanded and given a consequence, like grounding or loss of a priviledge. I don't think consequences that teach lessons are given anymore...

No, teens do not respect adults as they did in the past.. but why should they? Look at the world adults have provided them! What's to respect?
