Would you donate your eggs or sperm for money??

How do you feel about egg and sperm donation? The donor can make up to 9500 and can donate six times max for women? Would you do it? Why or why not?

The money is certainly tempting especially in today's economy but for me it would come down to a morality issue and not the money.  I can definitely understand why some people choose to donate eggs/sperm.  Often times there are families that cannot get pregnant on their own and need help and I think that's great! On the other hand though if I were to do that I would question myself constantly wondering, 'Is there a child out there somewhere with my face, my hair, my genes?' I don't think I could deal with it.  Even though I fully understand this is not in any way true, but I would feel like if my egg was used and a child came from that, that in it's own weird way I would be abandoning the child.  Also what if someday the child's parents told them the situation and the child in question was mine? Perhaps they would come looking for me 20 years down the line and whether you mean for it to or not that mother instinct will kick in. I would regret all the years missed and the child could suffer serious resentments etc. There's just a world of different reasons like listed above that I don't think I could do it.

No I would not, I would always wonder "what if?"  I still believe the right for it and the need is there. It is your personal choice.

It might be a guy thing, but I find the idea to be quite intriguing. I think it has more to do with the thought of bloodlines and leaving a legacy long after you're gone.

I would. Why not some guys can't reproduce. i think that if a couple that can't have kids wants kids. They should be able to have it. Plus I think it would be pretty cool of my bloodlines spiderwebbing through the world. But that brings up a whole nother issue....insest possibilities.

I would donate my eggs for someone who cannot conceive a baby otherwise. To be a parent is a blessed occasion. I loved being a mom. I would give that joy to other parents to be mom and dad just as well.

    No.
I would like to think I could to help another family without having to charge.
Noty only that I would be wondering how that child was being brought up, is he or she being neglected? etc.
It is not an easy choice to make and one has to think carefully before going ahead.
This is a very good post.
