There are many things I could talk about here but just let me mention a few of the practical things I learnt. My grandmother was quite a crafty person - good sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, cooking skills to a high degree.
I therefore spent many hours happily trying to 'perfect' some of these skills in her presence. To this day I'm grateful for the learning space and time given.
My grandfather, on the other hand, was quite a physical athletic person and liked to set targets and goals for his cycling and walking right into his very later years. I joined in on some of those activities as a kid and quickly understood the kind of dedication and perseverance needed to complete these tasks. Those items have stood me in good stead in times of physical and psychological endurance life tests.
