I think the best way is to establish boundaries, making sure she understands them and in time she will come to realize her place and perhaps she will change her way. At least that's what I did with mine, really had to stand my ground and she understood that she either changed or it would be her loss. Very difficult to do, but it works. After the storm she became a whole different person, it was like I wasn't a baby anymore, I was also a person and so she started talking to me and trying to understand me, instead of bossing me around, thinking I had no clue of the world. I'm happy to say I did the opposite choices of what she wanted and, though she didn't agree, she did not meddle and that I am very happy with my choices. Eventually, she was also very happy with my choices, once she realized I was happy and so, even though we do not see eye to eye on most things, that doesn't mean I'm wrong or she's wrong, we are just different.
