Has anyone ever given you a nickname you didn't like? What did you do to change it?

My friends always called me Jewels, and I didn't mind the nickname. But, during my teenage years, a past boyfriend's parents used to call me JewelBalls. I really didn't like the name and the more I said I didn't like it, the more they used it. Has anyone ever given you a nickname you didn't like, how old were you, and what was the outcome?

All of my nicknames I had as a child were created by bullies to make fun of me with. None of them were very appealing. So I eventually wound up doing without nicknames at all. Nobody ever came up with a pleasant one anyway hahaha. smile

Thanks for sharing! Bullies can be so mean! Growing up with the last name "Freeze", I constantly had people make fun of me, but when I spun it around and said, "You just wish you had a last name as cool as mine." They usually couldn't think of anythi

I understand, I am often called chocolate because my dark completion. At first, I thought it was cute because chocolate is good after all however, I am started to get tired of it. I don't mind if someone I know calls me chocolate, it is the random guys that sees me walking down the street and screams out CHOCOLATE, that annoys me. Unfortunately, there is not much I can do about it. In the past, I was given nick names that I didn't like by people that I know. In that situation, I simple confronted them and told them how uncomfortable being called this name made me feel. Once we had the conversation they stopped calling me the name. So, I would suggest that you tell them how you feel about being called this name. Chances are, they do not want to make you feel uncomfortable so they will stop calling you this name. If they still do not stop, then make up a not so flattering nick name for them. Say it to them every time that you see them and let them see how it feels. Maybe then, they will get the point.

I do have some nicknames during school days. I was wearing spectacles bcoz I was short sighted. They called me "Gold fish" . Hated that. Gold fish has fat belly and big, wide eyeballs. Told them to cut it off or end our friendship. ANyway, it didn't stop. So, I stop wearing spec and my nickname stopped immediately. Some friends are really inconsiderate, aren't they?
