How to deal with difficult questions asked by children?

0 Sometimes it is difficult depending on the setting. Now I am a senior citizen so there is not much that I mind answering when asked.
However, when I was a 25 year old teacher 40 years ago, and was asked during a sex ed class our sixth graders were having....'does it hurt?" Difficulty would be putting it mildly. Sweat poured, heart raced, eyes big as saucers, o, my. I wanted to run. I avoided answering as long as possible. Fianlly I HAD to acknowledge that young man and the question. He simply wanted to know, if it hurt when you have a baby.
I sighed a sigh of relief and answered.
