I sincerely hope that the last part of the sentence was for the better!
Me, also. I also enjoyed the company of older people. I felt children my age were so puerile. I also preferred my own company and was too serious for my peers. Were you an only child also?
I am the eldest.
Oldest children are often the little adults in their families. This is because they are expected to be the example to their younger siblings. Also, they are expected to be an adult sooner than everyone else in the family.
So sad about your mother. This was truly extenuating circumstances. Blessings and love.
Thank You, It was a great learning experience there is always those times when I think back and ask "Why me?" but I know why and it was to make me into the person I am today and I can live with that.
I should clarify: I don't mean I was bombarded with adult responsibilities as a child, but that I was "in" the adult world even when I was a little kid.
I understand quite well, starmom. Many only children are that way because they grew up in an adult environment. It is quite advantageous I might add. You have developed mature mannerisms. You knew how to interact easily with adults.
yes, that's true. my siblings were a generation older than me, & my two kids are almost 10 years apart in age.
