   I would have to say, being calm and using intuitiveness has been my best parenting decision. That is aside from the fact that I decided to be a parent.
   Even when I didn't approve I felt it was best to stay calm and listen as best as i could. 
   Remembering that your child is a gift left in your safe keeping is a good thing.

      Listening isn't always easy (especially if you don't approve) but it is so important.

   hmm on the top of my head i would have to say that me not bad mouthing or saying anything bad about my kids biological father was the best parenting decision I have ever made so far! Sad to say he showed them (my kids) everything that I would have said about him on his own!

      You should be proud of yourself for showing this restraint, sassydee.  My parents divorced when I was 14 and they both talked about the other to me.  It was hard.  I have twin stepsons (now 12) and we NEVER talk about their Mom in front of them.

   I think it will be a while to realize what was the best. My two are little ones and I guess so far with my oldest (daughter- 5), I would say letting her be herself. When I had kids I thought they would be little mini-me's. Sounds a bit selfish maybe looking back on it, but my daughter so far is not much like me at all and I guess I had to let go of the fact that kids are their own unique people and accept them for that.
   In general...number one parenting decision I strive for every day...focus on the positive things they do more than the negative. i truly believe it takes 100 atta boys (good comments) to undo the damage of one bad comment.

      Great thoughts!  Many adults think their children will be "mini-me's" and sometimes it's hard to grasp that they will be their own little people.  Many parents have great intentions...and just want their children to do things they didn't get to do.

   After experiencing a divorce I vowed if I became a father myself I would not treat my children the way he has treated my brother and me. It's the only thing I am thankful to him for.

   Not spanking my children. With my first I did what my in law suggested. The occassional swat to the hand and butt when my toddler didn't listen. The result? A child who swatted me and his baby brother when we didn't do what he wanted. Since I have quit I feel I have a better bond with my children, my children are confident, and I have learned how to control my anger.

   Parenting is quite challenging job. We have to take so many decisions, which later on may not seem right. but at that moment you thought that was the best possible decision. I have always tried to be friendly as well as strict with my children. A kind of balanced behavior--the purpose was, that my kids should be close enough to share all their happiness as well as disappointments with me. And I am glad, I am successful in that. I listen to them with patience and always encourage them to take their decisions and be responsible for the same. Parenting is lot of patience and many sacrifices. If children give back respect and concern to their parents, I think parenting was done correctly.

   Best parenting decision, don't know.  But, I have encouraged my son to follow his passion with determination, to know himself, and to know and follow God in his life.

    As of this moment, one of the best decisions I have made as a parent is the constant reminder of the importance of reading and education. It is important our children love to read because the whole world becomes available and their imaginations are fed. Education broadens our perspectives and gives us tools to draw from as we enter the workforce. Our kids need to read, be educated and as previously mentioned, loved.
