We have several official USA definitions of what specific years fall into which generations, so you might be either a Boomer or an X, or you might be Generation Jones (1954 - 1965). You can chose!
The three official definitions I use for "Boomers" are below and from accepted statistical agencies used by the government and private companies, but I use the first one most often, being exactly 20 years and aligned with medicine and health practices. The last one really is too short, in my opinion.

2a) Pew 2b) US Population Reference Bureau: 1946 - 1964
3) Strauss & Howe (S & H): 1943 - 1960
