What did you think of Miley Cyrus's on the VMA's?

I know this is a subject ruling over the entertainment world right now, but as parents What did you think and feel about Miley Cyrus and her actions at the VMA's. Myself I was in OMG state and thanking everything in my world that my children did not watch it. At one point I thought she was going to grow up to be a decent person now I feel she has taken the road to pure SKANKSVILLE and as a mother I will not allow my children to watch any of her "Entertainment". But that's just me. How about you?

I think it is like blaming the bomb for the war. She is a product of our society not the cause, just one more example of cheap and sensationalized sexuality. Personally, I think the outrage is silly. We accept Skanksville level 4 on a daily basis, but Miley's Skanksville level 5 and people are up in arms? As for kids, I would be surprised if many aren't regularly exposed to the same or worse on a frequent basis. It's been my experience that most parents are completely clueless.

I'm not entirely convinced she means what she is doing. Perhaps she is just being satirical. A stage of pedobearish style bears dancing while we all watch a young lady hump a foam finger seems almost like there is a deeper point. More than likely, however, she is just doing what many do: using salaciousness to generate buzz and laugh her way to the bank.

My only real complaint is that her dancing was terrible. If one is going to gyrate on stage at least gyrate well.

Ever since she cut her hair to recreate her image, I've observed a rawness about her that is so not appealing. I think she has issues that have yet to be revealed. God bless her.

Cheap and skank worthy. I've known she has been going down the wrong road for some time. But she just made Lady Gaga look like a better role model. At least Gaga has a following and tries to give a message through most of her music. But I have no idea what Miley is doing at this point.

I agree with everybody else who has answered this question so far.  She's gotten pretty tacky these days and I don't like her actions at all these days!!!!!  I was and still am a big fan of her daddy's, Billy Ray.  I can't help but wonder what her parents think about the way she's acting and dressing these days!!!!!  I was in Billy Ray Cyrus's fan club in 2000 and I went to the fan club picnic that year.  This was when they were living in Thompson Station, Tennessee, which is about an hour drive south of Nashville.  I got a chance to meet Miley and her half brother, Trace, at the time.  Miley was just 7 years old at the time.  I know this because I asked her how old she was.  She was so much cuter and sweeter at this age!!!!!  It is just shocking to me how she has turned out!!!!!  I guess all kids are cuter and sweeter at age 7, though, lol!!!!

I dont hate her, I dislike what she does. I do not know her as a person so I cant hate on her personally. However the reason she does receive so much attention, because the younger generation is mostly the voters.  For some strange reason they are brainwashed in to this sort of stuff.

The new dance is called twirking or tweeking lol, whatever, but its not a dance its dumb, disgraceful and done without any thought whatsoever. Anyone can do that, act disrespectful.

Some have said the world is getting better with entertainers, NEVER.
I wrote a hub just recently on good old music, what music is real talent and entertainment/showmanship. I wrote it in hopes that our younger generation will know the meaning of music and keep it in their history book.

History will never ever repeat itself when it comes to entertainment.
I do not even know who half the artists are anymore.
All she does is go on stage half dressed, sit on beds, there is no dance moves, no stage presence. I really do not get the likes of this era of music and dance at all, neither do I want to.

Some have put Cher in the same category, however to me she is Cher, she is sexy yet classy, she has showmanship as well as great stage peformances. (hence how long she has been entertaining)  No way can she ever be put in the same category as any of these young so called entertainers.

Her costumes are beautiful and she wears them well. She actually puts on a beautiful show/tours. That is her trademark.

Really at her age can you actually see her acting like this. Twirking is not even in the dictionary. lol
