    From looking at the other comments I must admit that there could be cases where a leash would make great sense. However in general Im not a great fan of the concept.

    It's not exactly used as a fashion statement, but I understand what you're saying. When I used to see kids on leashes I thought it was because their parents didn't want to watch them. Really it's because these kids are special and tend to dart.
