I am now aged 69, if there is one thing I have learned it is to deal with a difficult situation immediately. If you do not then it will get worse, that is certain, be it difficult or embarrassing deal with it.
One other thing. Many years ago I was in debt, I had a daughter of 8 and a loving wife. I paid my debts as best I could sometimes leaving us short of food. One evening a friend and his wife called to see us, there was little food in our cupboard. We offered them cheese sandwiches. Arthur knew me well, he led me to the kitchen, opened the cupboard door and gave me the biggest dressing down of my life.
He made it clear that you do not pay anybody anything until you have put the food on the table. Your creditors are having to wait anyway so a little longer won't make much difference. Thereafter family came first.
