I have a friend who is a vegetarian and is adamant that her children won't eat meat (they are 2 and 5). I haven't expressed an opinion even though this is a regular conversation topic that she brings up, but it got me wondering hence the question. And I guess I'm looking for some opinions. They are healthy kids. Another thing, if we meet for lunch she always asks me not to choose a meat dish which is fine with me but I'm thinking it's not a realistic thing to ask. Am I wrong?

I certainly think teaching your children why they are eating vegetarian food choices is a good idea. By doing this I imagine it would make things far more easier for them to understand and even learn more about.
Thanks Besarien, I think I'll do that and just ask her. Your answer was very helpful.
I would have thought most children start out eating vegetarian as it take a while to learn how to chew properly.
Thank you for your opinion I appreciate it. Your approach to your sons diet is a very healthy choice and most likely he will continue to eat the diet he already does when he's older beacause of this. It's true about friends too :)
