A good technique to practice is taking in a deep breath for 7 seconds and then exhaling for 11 seconds

OH Geeze! If only I knew the answer to this. I blush all the time. Not like it is roschea, but like I just show my emotions on my face. You can tell when I am happy, embarrassed, caught off guard, sad...you name it. I may even be blushing in my profile pic on here?

How do I deal with it? I am incredibly honest, and I know I will turn red when I am uncomfortable...so when I got into nursing school, I embraced it. I had a project where I had to speak in front of the class, and I started it with saying..."So I know Im about to turn red, but here...let me talk to you about the importance of self breast exams." Lovely, I know. But in my case, I turn redder if I'm embarrassed about being red...might as well bring attention to it. smile

I know this is easier said than done, but try not to worry about it.  I mean, if you blush, you blush - it's OK, move on.  The reason I say that is that while I don't blush easily at all, I've been in the situation where I've put my foot in my mouth, just said the wrong thing, and the person has blushed.  That tells me more than words can say that I'm at fault here.  So in a sense, blushing is actually a handy warning sign for the person who is making you uncomfortable and it can wordlessly tell them to back down or apologize or just move off the topic.

So, YOU shouldn't feel bad about blushing - it's the person who said something who should feel bad! Try not to worry about it(I know it's probably not easy though).
