Baby Care Timers
Arriving Home With Two Baby Boys
The day I came home from the hospital after having my twin boys I wanted everything to be perfect. My husband and my brother in law had worked into the wee hours of morning making sure the boys cribs were set up, the nursery was painted, wallpaper border was on, and dressers along with change table were all in place.
Knowing that my husband can at times be a procrastinator I was a bit worried that all of this wouldn't be complete. When i walked in and saw everything was perfect I was a very happy new mom.
I've always tried to be an organized person ... maybe even a bit too organized. Never having had a baby before I decided to make up a chart for feeding, and naps. I even had a spot on the chart for what time Allan and Matthew's diapers were changed.
I'd like to share with you below a few shower gift ideas that I personally would have loved to receive, and think would make awesome gifts for mothers and fathers to be. Included below are; Baby Care Timers, Freshness Minders, and a Safety Thermometer Bath Alarm.

Timers can be set to remind you that it is time to feed baby 1, and baby 2. See what time it was when they last ate, and the time of the last diaper change.
Sometimes trying to figure out why your baby is crying can get tiring. With this baby timer it will make these times easier.
No Need To Make Up Charts Anymore - Use a Baby Care Timer
I must admit my charts worked very well except for the times when my husband would feed or wake up with the twins. He wasn't big on filling out the details or documenting the times that he'd help me out.
If baby care timer's had of been available 25 years ago I would have bought one right away.
What a perfect baby shower gift for any mother to be.
For single births there is a Pocket Nanny.
Why I Think a Baby Care Timer is a Great Gift Idea
When any new mother comes home from the hospital she is apt to be a bit overwhelmed and nervous. I unfortunately was unable to breast feed and learning how to make formula was something I wanted to do to perfection. If I would have had a care timer I feel life could have been a bit easier for the reasons listed below.
- Twins are not always on the exact same time feeding schedule. You may feed twin one at 6 am, and not feed twin two until 9 am. With a timer you will be alerted as to when it is time for the baby's next bottle.
- Remembering back to diaper changes. Sometimes I would end up checking which baby I'd last changed, and 8 of of 10 times it would be the second baby checked that needed changing. Being alerted to which baby needed changing would be a huge time saver for mothers.
- I liked to keep my twins on a nap schedule. If I'd have had a timer I think sticking to the schedule would have been a little easier.
