Baby Girl Nursery Themes: Monkey Nurseries
Add a little monkey business to your nursery theme
The first time I saw my niece and nephews nursery, I couldn't stop from laughing out loud. My sister had gifted her twins with a nursery filled with whimsical monkeys swinging from tree to tree. Everywhere I looked, from the floor to the ceiling, there was something that caught my eye.
Her babies love staring at all the monkeys and as they grow older, I'm sure it will inspire them to act like monkeys themselves (as all children should).
Below you'll find everything you need to give your daughter her own whimsically themed nursery, everything from crib bedding sets to wall art. I hope you find what you love and I hope it makes your daughter smile for years to come!
These are my sisters twins, laying on their fun monkey sheets.
This 10 piece set includes a comforter, 2 crib sheets, a dust ruffle, a diaper stacker, a musical mobile, 1 monkey wall hanging, 2 sheets of monkey wall decals and an extra cutesy birth certificate that doubles as a picture frame.
Having a monkey themed baby nursery can be loads of fun. When I think of what the walls should look like, I envision trees with smiling monkeys swinging back and forth. If you're artistically inclined, you could paint an eye-catching mural on the wall yourself.
If you're not that artistic, don't worry. Just paint the walls a soothing color and decorate them using decals, posters, wall hangings and wallpaper borders. The one good thing about doing it like this is that all your decorations can be easily removed later on.
Here's an easy way to paint your baby's nursery all by yourself!
Monkey Wall Decals
If you aren't confident about your skills with a paintbrush, these wall decals are a fantastic alternative. Just peel and stick for a room full of monkeys. And if you aren't happy with it when you're finished, you can peel it off and re-stick it. Choose from four different monkey scenes, or use them all together!
I have decals in every room of my house and all my guests remark on how great they look.
Easier than painting! Just peel and stick for a room full of monkeys.
These four little monkeys are totally adorable and will brighten up any nursery, playroom, hallway or even a kids bathroom. Plus, you can pick your size. They're available in nine different sizes ranging from 12" tall to 60" tall. These are high quality decals printed on self stick thick fabric paper. They're re-positionable and removable (and you don't have to worry about it leaving marks).
Monkey Wall Art
If you don't trust your painting skills and you don't want to mess around with peel and stick decals, don't worry. You still have one easy option for decorating your daughters room. All it takes is a hammer and a nail to hang these adorable pictures on the wall.
This canvas print measures 16" by 20" and is made to last years and years. The wooden stretcher bars have a depth of 1.5" and the decorative edges mean it doesn't need a frame.
The crib is the main gathering point in every nursery. It's where your baby will spend most of her time and it's where your visitors will gather when they come to see the baby. So you'll want to make sure it's monkeyed to the max. Thankfully, most bedding sets come with the basic necessities of crib decorating (quilt, fitted crib sheet, padded bumper and a dust ruffle).
Something I consider a necessity for every crib is a musical mobile. A good mobile will have two qualities: A soothing tune to put baby to sleep, and contrasting colors to help her eyes focus.
Monkey Baby Bedding
This 10 piece Curious Monkey baby bedding set comes with a Comforter, Dust Ruffle, Fitted Crib Sheet, Bumper Padding, Baby Mittens, Toy Bag, 2 Valances, Diaper Stacker and Baby Pillow. Made with 100% cotton, the comforter and bumper are reversible for a different pattern.
This 13 piece Melanie the Monkey baby bedding set includes a quilt, fitted crib sheet, dust ruffle, diaper stack, 2 valances, toybag, baby pillow, baby bib, 3 pcs Diaper Bag and a padded bumper.
A great monkey nursery doesn't stop at the walls and the crib. It also covers the floor, furniture, windows and sometimes, the ceiling. If you haven't purchased your baby furniture yet, keep your nursery theme in mind as you're making your choices. The color of furniture you choose could have a big impact on the overall effect of the room.
There are many great accessories you can use to decorate your nursery. Lamps, stuffed animals, rugs, night lights, and valances will each add their own little charm. You could even go one step further by hanging some "vines" and attaching some stuffed monkeys to them.
