Best Diaper Bag
How to Buy the Best Baby Diaper Bag
My wife and I have had two sons and been through a fair few diaper bags. We share looking after our baby so share the diaper bag too and I have come up with quite a few factors in what you should look for with regard to the best diapers bag:
Lots of compartments. The best diaper bags have lots of compartments so you can separate, diapers, wipes, a change of clothes, bottles, pacifiers and all the other accessories you will need to carry.
Easy to access compartments - It's good to have easily accessible compartments for items you are likely going to want to access quickly and easily on the go. It's great if you can get out wipes and cloths quickly. Also, you may want to hav easy access to items such as your wallet and cellphone (as long as they are secure too),
A wipe clean bag/easy to clean bag. You will probably use your diaper bag almost everyday so a bag which you can wipe clean or wash is often a good option. Also make sure you can clean it inside and out - as everyday gunk can make it dirty inside your diaper bag too.
A portable change mat. Many top diaper bags come with a portable change mat which are great for changing diapers when you're out and about. Of course, if the bag you love doesn't come with this you could buy one separately.
Reinforced bottom You will be putting the bag down on all kinds of surfaces so if the bottom of the bag is reinforced it will ensure the bag is more durable.
Other accessories. Some diaper bags come with lots of other great accessories such as insulated bottle pockets to keep baby's bottles warm or holders for wipes.
Attach to your stroller Some change bags have devices which make it easy to attach to the back of your stroller. These are great as otherwise they can hang down too far or slip down the stroller handles and generally get in your way when walking.
A shoulder pad Padding in the strap makes it more comfortable to carry a heavy bag.
If both Mom and Dad are looking after the baby it may be worth getting a more unisex bag or you could get one each. There are diaper bags for men too - look at the end of the article for a suggestion.

JJ Cole Mode Diaper Tote Bag
My wife tells me this bag is stylish and cute. She really likes the design of this bag too.
It is a bag for a woman. A bag like this would be hard for a man to carry off!
However, I do like the easy to clean surface of the bag. I also like the stroller attachments which slip onto the stroller handle.
Backpack Diaper Bags
There tend to be two main types of diaper bags, messenger / shoulder strap style (which you carry over your shoulder) or backpacks. There are advantages and disadvatages of both types of diaper bags, so what you prefer will depend on your requirements.
Here are some considerations when choosing whether to have a backpack or messenger style diaper bag.
More comfortable to carry - If you prefer to carry your diaper bag rather than put it over the stroller, the backpack diaper bag may be a better choice. It will distribute the weight over your back so they are generally more comfortable to carry than a bag with a shoulder strap.
Some men may prefer the style of a backpack
Backpacks don't hang on the back of a stroller - Most backpack diaper bags don't fit on the back of a stroller so you will always have to carry it.
Safety - There is a danger that having a bag over the back of the stroller can make the stroller too heavy on one side so it may tip your stroller over. Although this never happened with me - it may depend on what type of stroller you have and how heavy your bag and baby is. As backpacks don't fit on the back of a stroller this potential problem is avoided.
Ju-Ju-Be Be Right Back Backpack Diaper Bag,
This is a well designed backpack which is really practical and looks good too.
The great thing about this bag is that even though its designed primarily as being a diaper bag, it would be so good for other uses too.
For example, the compartment which holds the changing mat can also be used to hold a tablet or small laptop.
So there will be life in this backpack after its first use as a diaper bag.
Practical Diaper Bag - Good Unisex Bag
This bag is extremely well thought out and well designed to get access to all your baby stuff instantly.
It looks unisex so could be used by Moms or Dads.
It's really reasonably priced too.
Durability
It can be tempting to go for the cheapest diaper bag but make sure you don't compromize on quality. When buying your diaper bag it's worth looking for some signs that it's going to be durable. You will probably be using this bag nearly every day. Here are some things to look out for:
Durable high quality fabric and construction materials - Fabric that will last and is easy to clean too. Bags that can be wiped clean inside and outside will look better for longer.
Double seams - Make sure the bag is stronger.
Warranty - a bag backed up with a warranty can be replaced if it does wear quickly.
Read reviews - Read reviews to get an idea of durabiliity.
Skip Hop Versa Diaper Bag
This is a good option of a bag which both men and women could possibly use as it is more of a unisex color.
Diaper Bag for Men

Taking Care of Your Diaper Bag
When you're really busy with babies and kids, it can be really a drag to really look after your diaper bag. But a few minutes a day can mean your bag lasts for longer and looks better too. It's definitely worth doing especially if you've spent a lot of money on your bag. Here are some top tips:
Food and drink - Remember to take out any food or drink and check for any small spillages. Food stains or liquid spillages not only look unsightly but they can cause fabric to wear more quickly.
I also found to try and keep any baby snacks in containers. It's so easy to get crumbs in your bag and they manage to dig into any small crevices and then they're hard to remove.
Wipe down fabrics - Wipe off any stains as soon as you can (as long as its suitable to do this with your bag's fabric). This helps keep the bag looking good and stops the fabric from staining and wearing.
Inspections - Inspect your bag for any wear or tear signs regularly. For example, there could be loose seams around the shoulder straps which you could reinforce or repair before they become a major problem.
