Baby Help Guide

Updated on September 12, 2016

Breastfeeding or formula?

here is the #1 debate in america, to breastfeed or use formula. Its OK! either way baby is fed and healthy! I personally Breastfed both my boys. I am currently tandem nursing (well Pumping) for my 21 month old and my 4 month old. you are not wrong either way you choose to go however there are many benefits to breastfeeding.

"Breast milk contains antibodies that help your baby fight off viruses and bacteria. Breastfeeding lowers your baby's risk of having asthma or allergies. Plus, babies who are breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months, without any formula, have fewer ear infections, respiratory illnesses, and bouts of diarrhea."

Breastfeeding a child has been linked to higer IQ scores in the child?

The APP says breastfeeding helps prevent SIDS.

Breastmilk digests better than formula.

Breastfeeding Reduces a mothers chances of breast and ovarian cancer.

Breastfeeding burns extra calories, so you will return to your pre pregnancy weight faster.

breastfeeding helps create a strong bond between mother and child.

its best to attempt Breastfeeding, but if its not in your cards, that's OK, too!

here are a couple great groups and pages on FACEBOOK if you decide to Breastfeed

Cloth or Disposable?

Disposable Diapers are far easier than cloth! I used them with my first boy, just wrap it up and toss it! with my second I discovered cloth diapers and so far i'm loving them! no more fighting diaper rash! the first night I used one his rash was completely cleared up.

Cloth PROS: The cloth diaper covers are super cute! it comes out cheaper in the long run, Cloth diapers reduce diaper rash, i've also heard some mommas who swear that using cloth nappies help the child potty train easier because they feel "wet".

Cloth CONS: you will be running the washer at least once every 2 days unless you have a Diaper service in your area that will take care of the "dirty work" when babies poop, generally you need to pre soak the insert.

Disposable PROS: they are convenient. just grab one put it on and throw it away when done.

Disposable CONS: they tend to cause diaper rash, they stink in the pail and fill up landfills, they are also more expensive.

Have you heard of Baby wearing?

Hello babywearing! I can honestly say it is the best thing i've discovered sense chocolate cake! Right now I have a moby wrap, how did I not know about babywearing with my first child?! First I can tell you I get much more housework done, The wrap keeps baby snuggly close to you and helps comfort the little squishy in turn helps with the purple crying stage, colic and teething.

There are so many different wraps and carriers I cant name them all!
