Christian Parenting Aids
As a Christian parent, you want to share your faith with your children. You want to train them up in the way they should go. You're probably on the lookout for tools to help you do your job.
As a Christian parent and writer, I've been there. I have lots of ideas about how to share the knowledge of God with others. I'm keenfully aware of the incredible window of opportunity we have to share our faith with our children as they grow -- and learn -- about our world. I want to help you make the most of that opportunity.
This Hubpage is a place where we can begin a dialog. I can share with you what I have done -- and you can share with me what you need to make the most of your children's formative years. What sort of books interest your children? What questions of faith do they have?
Your feedback can help me prioritize projects, and more effectively serve you. So if you have any feedback, I would love to hear from you.
I also include some other resources that I believe will be helpful to you -- and them.
Bibles for Children from Amazon
A good Bible will help your child get in the habit of dedicating time for God and learning from this word.
I read my son the HoneyWord Bible at bedtime for years, imparting lessons I trust will serve him for life. His love of honey helped make the book appealing. Lesson pages in it help to solidify important biblical principles.
A Free Bible Study for 5-10 year olds
This Bible study for 5- to 10-year-olds was inspired one day under the oak trees near our Tampa area home. Called Making Choices: Life is Like Acorns, it is the story of a young squirrel named Peepsie who learns everything is not what it seems to be.
It includes squirrel photos taken at an area park.
Your feedback is welcome. Download the book here.

A Skinny Devotions Book Fat with Bible Truths
This devotions book was written with the older teen in mind, say 16 and up. But it is suitable for older children and pre-teens. I recommend it for them because it can have a tremendous impact on their lives.
Fast Track to Victory, A Christian Guidebook is a non-denominational book which encapsulates the biblical principles we need to live a godly Christian life. Learning these truths at a young age can be of great benefit. The book will help them learn Christian love and forgiveness, why to set aside pride, how to deal with tragedies in life, and lots more. It will encourage them to spend time daily with God.
Fast Track does not tackle divisive doctrinal issues such as styles of baptism, confession or communion, what is the true church, or what Bible you should be reading. The issues included in this book are purely lifestyle issues where there is common agreement among Christians.

An easy and fun way to share your faith in God is through Veggie Tales, which presents a number of Bible stories in an entertaining way.
Perhaps tops on my list is this memorable tale about the importance of being grateful for what we have. My son David loves the part when Bob says "Come on Larry, grab a cart!"
The folks in Jericho throw slushies at the Israelites, making for a hilarious video.
Scripture Songs Anyone?
One of the more surprising things that has happened to me in life was when God's spirit began singing to me inaudibly while I was reading Scripture. I tried to ignore it, even avoid it by reading from other sections of the Bible, but God had his way. I wound up recording three CDs worth of the songs he sang to me.
I don't profess to be a musician. I do enjoy singing. It was one of my childhood dreams to be a singer. God apparently wanted to fulfill it. He also wanted me to know all things were possible with him. You see my dad asked my sister and I to write songs. I never could, not until God began giving them to me. I believe he has left me with the gift of writing melodies, if I choose.
If your child likes music, these songs God has given me can help them learn lots of Scriptures. They sure helped me learn them. It will help them to get some of God's promises into their heart to be recalled later in life as they are needed. Like most things we memorize, though, they need to be reviewed periodically to keep them committed to memory.
These songs were prepared in a traditional style. So older children and teens who like rock music may want to search out some other songs here. Younger children have enjoyed my more traditional style.
If anyone is interested in using these songs for a youth choir or chorus, for kids anywhere from say 6 to 12, I would be happy to work with you to develop simple parts for the children. I am believing this would be a very fitting use for them!
You can learn more about my Scripture songs on this Hubpage, or you can visit my website at www.SongsfromtheWord.com

A Parenting Aid for You
One of parents' most important jobs is teaching their children about God. They need to know there is someone in control and they can't do just whatever they want to do. Even from very young ages, children will test boundaries. And parents need to be their teaching discipline on God's behalf.
Along the way, others will reinforce the lesson, but it's important for parents to get it right. Inevitably, there will be questions about a God they cannot see. This is the focus of some of my books aimed at youngsters. This short ebook can be used for children 10 and up -- even for grownup children who question God's existence, resist going to church, or doubt God hears their prayers.
Finding God: Biblical Answers to Questions about Our Maker is intended to help people build a relationship with God. It is a quick, to-the-point read providing relevant answers we need.
It is available free from my website.

Build your children's faith with this miraculous true story about how Dr. Chauncey Crandall brought a dead man back to life. Jeff Markin had suffered a massive heart attack and, despite the hospital staff's best efforts, he was declared dead. While they were prepping Jeff's body for the morgue, Dr. Crandall heard God ask him to pray for Jeff. In obedience, he went to Jeff's bedside and prayed that if he did not know God, he would be brought back to life. Dr. Crandall asked a hospital staff member to shock Jeff's body one more time -- an act which restored his life.
