Boy or Girl: Ovulation method of natural sex pre-selection.
Why not leave the selection of the sex of the baby to God? To most people it would seem the reasonable thing to do, since nature produces roughly 50 boys to 50 girls. In fact, international figures show 106 boys born for every 100 girls, but the baby boys have a higher survival rate than the baby girls, leaving the end result about equal.
In many countries, some people have a conviction that life is not complete without a baby boy, ‘to carry on the family name’.
A husband and wife may be quite content with their little girls, but it often happens that relatives persistently make life hard for them unless they remarry. Such tormenting is unjust and unreasonable, and suffering of the young couple may be deep and prolonged. This article is written in an effort to help them.
Why More Girls
It is said that there is an excess of girls born in the very countries where the desire for a boy is extreme. A likely explanation is that may couples without a boy quite unconsciously alter the usual spacing of pregnancies. Some families tend to have all boys, balancing out with all girls, and the full reason for this is not known. The all-girls families do not space their babies as widely apart as those with boys, resulting in larger families when all are girls. The breastfeeding time is sometimes shortened for girls. This is not the cause of ‘all–girls’, but the result of it – they are impatient to try again.
To enable parents to choose the sex of their baby, I don’t encourage the use of my special acid or alkali treatment.
The results are achieved simply by the timing of sexual intercourse, and it is not 100% successful as some of the artificial methods of sex pre-selection. Nevertheless the success–rate of this method of sex pre-selection is 97%, and it seems to be higher for a baby boy. It appears to be considerably easier to get a boy than it is to get a girl. My figures are not yet large enough to be authoritative about it, but the results are very encouraging to date.
XY or XX
The various parts of the child body including the sexual organs are formed by the union of contributions from the husband and the wife. A man has a pair of sex chromosomes called X and Y. That makes him a man. A woman on the other hand has a pair of sex chromosomes called X and X, (both are X’s). The parents each contribute one of the pair of sex chromosomes to their child. The mother must contribute on egg with an X, because she has no Y. The father contributes either X or Y. If his X chromosome captures the egg of his wife, the result will be XX, a baby girl. It his Y chromosome enters the egg; it will be XY, a baby boy. And so the sex of the baby depends mainly on the father’s contribution.
No Defectt in the Husband.
As I stated earlier, the sex of the baby depends on which sex chromosome the father contributed. Half of his sperms contain Y chromosomes and half of them contain X chromosomes. They are equal in number in every man. But it does not mean that there is any defect in the man when a couple is giving birth to only a particular sex.
Some men are greatly relieved when they are assured that it is not the weakness of their blood that prevents them from having boys. And the sex of the baby is certainly not influenced in any way by the rough, toughness of the father’s Character, or by his gentleness.
THE TORTOISE AND THE HARE
Most people know the old fable-‘the Tortoise and the Hare’, and how the slow Tortoise won the race because the Hare used up his energy in his first leap forward. The husband’s girl-sperms are like the Tortoise, weak and slow. The boy–sperms are like the Hare, strong and fast. If intercourse takes place just when the egg is released, the girl– sperm has no chance, and vice versa.
In general, below are practical details about how to have a boy or a girl, and unless the advice given there is observed carefully it will not succeed.
TO HAVE A BABY BOY
The peak (day of ovulation) and the day following it are the days to have a baby boy.
- No intercourse on the early Pap Mucus or Eggwhite mucus days. Have intercourse on the day following the peak (The day after ovulation), and then for the rest of the cycle as often as desired. Continue in this way for about six cycles.
- If not pregnant by then, begin to have intercourse on the day that you think may be your peak, and have it again on the next day, the fist day after ovulation. We can only guess when the peak may occur according to the charting of recent cycles. If a mistake is made and there is more Eggwhite mucus on the next day, be sure to have intercourse on the next day as well.
TO HAVE A BABY GIRL.
Intercourse before the peak is more likely to result in a baby girl.
1. Have intercourse on the first day of Eggwhite mucus, and then avoid it until the fourth day after the peak. Continue this for a few cycles.
2. Try the second day of Eggwhite appearance for more cycles.
3. Slowly bring the day of intercourse closer to the peak.
Remember, if intercourse takes place on what is thought to be the day before the Peak, but it turns out in fact to be the Peak, nothing more can be done. It may then be a baby boy by mistake.
4. If there are usually only one or two days of Eggwhite appearance, it is better to start by having intercourse on the days of early Pap (and avoid it then until the fourth day after the peak), for a few cycles.
Before embarking on the above plan for a boy or girl, you should first become familiar with the BILLINGS OVULATION METHOD OF NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING and avoid pregnancy by having sexual intercourse only on the infertile days fore about two months.
DEFINITION/EXPLANATION OF SOME TERMS
The peak – day of ovulation
This is the last day of Eggwhite appearance, but the number of Eggwhite mucus days varies from cycle to cycle. It is therefore not possible to know the day of the Peak until the next day is without eggwhite. It is like the last day of the Rainy season. You cannot know that Monday was the last day of the Rainy season unless there is no more rain after it. You cannot know that is was the Peak unless there is no more Eqqwhite mucus the next day. Then, at the end of the day you can look back and say, ‘‘ yesterday must have been my peak’’
Charting makes a woman become used to her cycle so that she can predict her peak.
The pap mucus is the first ovulation mucus to appear and later, it then develops into Eggwhite mucus. The former is called Pap because it looks like the baby food of that name. When you try to stretch it between your fingers it soon breaks.
Pap is not slippery; sometimes it is even sticky. It is always cloudy in colour, never clear.
Early Pap is the Pap mucus that appears immediately after the menses.
Late pap is the pap that appears occasionally a day or two after the peak.
This is the second type of ovulation mucus. It is called Eggwhite because it feels, stretches and looks like the white of an uncooked egg, apart from the fact that it can look either very clear or cloudy.
Please remember that Eggwhite mucus is often quite cloudy. Once the mucus is slippery and stretching, it is certainly eggwhite, whether it looks clear or cloudy.
