The Fisher Price Story…

Herm Fisher, Irving Price and Helen Schelle were the 3 energetic entrepreneurs who found Fisher Price in 1930. The trio started a manufacturing headquarters in a small village in East Aurora, New York and today with its sparkling history of 82 years Fisher Price has become the world’s largest and most trusted name in preschool toys. In 1993 stockholders of Fisher Price Inc. and Mattel Inc. joined hands. With Mattel’s powerful reach across the globe the merger initiated remarkable growth for Fisher Price in international markets. Since its inception Fisher Price has made 5000+ different toys and Little People’s toys being the most popular. Till today, Fisher Price’s early company slogan, “Our work is child’s play” rings true, a legacy that would make Herm Fisher, Irving Price and Helen Schelle extremely proud.

Well, let the facts tell the Fisher Price growth story:

  1. Do you know the first Fisher Price toy & its price then & today? The first Fisher-Price toy ever sold was Dr. Doodle. In 1931, parents could buy this delightful little pull toy for under $3.00. The same toy, in excellent condition, could command up to $1,000 today.
  2. Fisher Price has sold over 40million+ units of its popular Rock-A-Stack since its introduction in 1960. If stacked over one another it would reach 6,000 miles in the sky.
  3. Fisher Price has sold 10 Million+ Little Snoopy pull toys since 1966 which accounts for 700 Little Snoopy’s sold every day for the past 39 years.
  4. It took 35 years for Fisher-Price to achieve its first $25 million in sales, 4 years to add its second $25 million and just one year to add its third $25 million!
  5. Once a toy idea becomes a final product it undergoes rigorous testing’s in the Fisher Price lab, E.g. toys with push buttons and springs must withstand at least 1000 actuation's by a motorized finger to ensure he toy will stand up to repeated use by a preschooler.
